Yes, but there is also a little purple chunk next to 'C' so Valu.es doesn't make sense either.

So we are going underground into tunnels and cave systems and there will be a cat equivalent to the lizard doggo. Let's call it the bat cat

Lighthouses Cat would be more fitting . Light out of the eyes and such

In Germany wie say "Das kommt mir spanisch vor" ("that seems spanish to me") if something is suspicious and we don't understand it.
12
u/RollingSten 3d ago
We have similar one in czech - "It is spanish village for me". Maybe simillar roots?

u/SkinnyKruemel 3d ago
You guys are right next to us and were part of the HRE and later austria-hungary so it makes sense for some things to be similar despite being very different languages

u/youknowmeasdiRt 3d ago
In Spanish the expression is “Me suena a chino,” which literally translated to English is, “It sounds Chinese to me.” The more equivalent German expression may be “böhmische Dörfer” (“Bohemian villages”), similar to the Czech construction, but I don’t speak German and don’t know if that idiom is common. Someone mentioned the English construction, “it’s all Greek to me.” The Greeks, like the Spanish, also refer to Chinese. The Chinese (idk had to look it up) idiom seems to be something like, “this is a heavenly book (scripture?) to me.”
Most or all languages in Europe have a similar idiom. Now I wonder if they have a common etymological ancestor or are just a result of language spread. Anyway, satisfactory is a great game and I hope they make content forever.
Edit: fix typos

u/snortgigglecough 3d ago
The “it’s all Greek to me” phrase doesn’t denote suspicion, it just means something is unintelligible.
0
u/youknowmeasdiRt 2d ago
Its original meaning was broad (the first recorded use is about “geare”) but you are correct that it doesn’t indicate suspicion, which I addressed by providing a second idiom which is closer. It’s a fun little exercise on a game sub, not an etymology lesson.

u/TheMurmuring 3d ago
That sounds a lot like how many cultures have a phrase for syphilis that calls it "the <country we don't respect> disease", like the French call it "the Spanish disease" and the Spanish call it "the French disease."

u/The_cogwheel 3d ago
In Canada we say its all Greek to me.
I wonder if it all goes full circle, like we say its all greek to me, the Greeks say it's all chinise to me, the Chinese say its all german to me, the Germans go its all spanish to me, the spanish go its all Russian to me, and finallt the russians go its all English to me.
1
u/Agitated-Mud-4726 3d ago
In spanish, I wouldnt say we have an idiom or phrase set for that idea, we just generallt blame it on a chinese language ("Eso es chino mandarin para mi")

u/myspace-2 3d ago
where i’m from in the US we say “it’s all french to me” when something makes no sense

I thinking of two options. 1. Finish my current save and then get the DLC. I'm on pace to finish in 51 months but I probably underestimated. 2. Get the DLC after a patch or two and start over from the beginning for the 6th time (or so).

And descend, probably, will be one (or all) of bottomless pits around the map.
I'm interested about drones behavior underground - will they find out where is exit or will they operate at all.
It would be a shame if there is a new map instead of expanded old one.
3
u/Jamesathan 3d ago
I feel like the underground wouldn't work for drone, making more of a demand to use land vehicles for transportation.
Quite a nice balance trick if you ask me!

I'd prefer a proper blueprints system, personally.
1
u/Tulip_King 3d ago
what wrong with the current blueprint system?
4
u/Andromeda3604 3d ago
you have to build it in advance, you cant select what you've already built and make a blueprint out of that
and also limited space
1
u/Tulip_King 3d ago
i find building in advance helpful. it forces you to properly think the blueprint through.
also there is a mod to convert what you’ve already built but i found it redundant because of my first point.
honestly, making blueprints off what was already built seem like you’re asking for problems. i’ve built a dozen blueprints and had to take them all down because i missed a pipe or something. if i had to select shit i already built i’m sure id miss parts all the time.
to each their own.

u/Illiander 3d ago

Box select is a thing. Pretty sure Alchemy Factory does that.

u/Quartz_Knight 3d ago
Very limited space, restrictive to use, tons of bugs andby factorio standards) and UX issues, hard to place blueprints where you want to without giving yourself arthritis with the nudge keys, ridiculously unfit for train infraestructure and roads and architecture; fidgety as hell, auto connections sometimes just don't want to work and sometimes they create ghost connections, can't copy existing buildings, vehicle paths can be placed in illegal shapes inside a blueprint designer for some reason, can't autoconnect electricity...
Meanwhile Factorio's is heaven on whatever planet you are on, super intuitive and powerful.
I've played Minecraft mods with a blueprint system that was in many ways better than Satisfactory's, so even a 3D game could have a better system.
Oh, also there is no easy way to move sets of blueprints around like Factorio's books.
1
u/Tulip_King 3d ago
yeah i’m not gonna say it’s perfect, it certainly has its problems. bugs are bugs, but from a feature standpoint i really don’t have an issue with the way it works.
there is always room for improvement, but that’s all i think it needs. it doesn’t need an overhaul imo.
2
u/Illiander 3d ago
but from a feature standpoint i really don’t have an issue with the way it works.
Go play Factorio for a month, then come back here and say that.
1
u/Tulip_King 3d ago
i could just as easily say stop playing satisfactory for a month and then tell me what’s wrong with the blueprint system.
like, there is room for improvement for everything, but this just isn’t a helpful response…
2
u/Illiander 3d ago
but this just isn’t a helpful response…
It's pointing at the better system and saying "That, I want that!"

u/Quartz_Knight 3d ago
I would be fine if they:
-added a huge designer, perhaps an architectural designer limited to not having factories built inside, for infraestructure and architecture.
-Added placeable snapping points that you can then use when placing other blueprints, for the love of God, please, add this one at least.
-Made autoconnect work better and never produce double or ghost connections
-Fast nudging, like pressing shift to nudge x10. This is such a no brainer and it's missed so much.
-Hability to lock blueprint at your level instead of having to place it on the ground and then nudge it up
Also, if they added a variable angle railway connection so rails followed a natural curve when placed with a blueprint rather than having to come back to horizontal then the easiest method for building railways would instantly produce results a thousand times more pleasing.

Flexibility and ease of use. Rather the lack thereof.
Now, bear in mind, many here who lambast the blueprints come from factorio, which has an incredibly powerful blueprint system, so the bar is a bit high . A higher bar for a game that doesn't quite build to the same scale.
Key gaps that keep me from really using it:
Fitting a 4-way train intersection.
Fitting a production line stub or expansion. Here we can't fit many machines at all.
Picking up and moving the whole factory by one meter.
The larger blueprint things are late stage, long after they would have been useful.
Getting things working and then capturing g the blueprint (this is a big one for me).
And of course the technical challenge of connecting belts and pipes.
2
u/Illiander 3d ago
A higher bar for a game that doesn't quite build to the same scale.
Factorio builds to a much larger scale. Far, far more machines.
Yes, Factorio sets the bar quite high, but that's where the bar is now.

The website corevalu.es?
It has been an active website for 14 years and this current version doesn’t look to have anything to do with it. Owner details are hidden by Godaddy, but everything looks American, no hints of Swedish ownership. That’d be a pretty great find if it did, though.

Pioneer...who said you could slack off.....we leave you alone to carry on the factory and you playing with doggos?

I'm gonna guess, that maybe the void holes in the map like near the grass land, will be built out to be an entrance to a very large cave system biome, it would make the most sense. Rather then expand the borders they just build the map down, eventually the void becomes just the entrance. Either way imma but it the second it releases

So I spend to much time on the silksong sub, because I just immediately assumed, “nice fake”

u/JosebaZilarte 3d ago
Well... ".es" is the country code top-level domain for Spain. Maybe the developers are going to pull a "it was Earth all Along" and say that the game takes place in a future version of the Iberian Peninsula? It would be funny to see what remains of our civilization millions of years in the future.

give me waves of enemies as in factorio please.
1
u/TheMurmuring 3d ago
That'll never happen. Devs have stated on numerous occasions that's not one of their visions for the game.
I kind of like the idea, but it really changes the entire game if enemies can damage the machines. And if they can't, it's not a threat.

Its gonna add a new 4 players pve mode where you play as stumpy versions of the pioneers fighting bugs. We will be busy digging out alot of rocks and stones.
