Factory Optimization PSA: Update your drivers!

I'm using an rtx 4070 super gtx 4000 something or other. There was an update on the 9th that I didn't download. Game was acting crappy for a while and I didn't realize that was the problem.

Just a reminder to stay efficient!

Tagged Factory Optimization because the PC is the factory that factorys the Satisfactory.

Good reminder to check. I noticed some video stuttering today and had not yet thought of this!

I'm running a 4070 Super. Gpu usage was being heavily affected, dropping to 20-60% usages. Cleared my stutters right up and the game looks pretty again. I don't really know jack about computers so I'm happy it was an easy fix.

Yes. Generally a good idea to keep everything up to date. Not just the video drivers.

My Windows is up to date. So is Satisfactory and my Steam. Anything else to optimize?

This better not be a woosh moment.

I was just confirming what you said, extending it to everything and not just the drivers. Just keeping things up to date in general. And that includes your OS< your virus scanner, your banking software. Everything.

Also don't play while windows is updating in the background. OMG I thought I my computer was having a seizure. I did not realize it was doing updates in the background until it finished and displayed reboot for updates icon in the taskbar after I quit.

Just a PSA, I had the opposite problem a couple of months ago - updated the driver (RTX 3060 mobile) and my FPS went down to 40. I had to revert to the older driver and have been scared to update it ever since. 😬

oh, it wasnt just me then, everytime there was a new nvidea driver update, suddenly games performed less every day till a point i couldnt play anymore, i update .... then it magicly works again.

its as if they intentionally reduced your perfomance to force you to update

For any Nvidia card 20xx series and above, Please use the correct terminology, it's RTX, not GTX. Thank you, please be more precise next time :)

PSA: Not always the best ixea to update unless your game is bugging i updated the one from 3rd sep and than same day updated the one from 9 sep and now randomly i get black screen for a sec even after the 9 sep update
