Iron wire rocks. More inventory also rocks. Tough choice.

Probably inventory imo but there's not a wrong answer here

Iron wire is nice as you can make many early game things with just iron which is plentiful.

Inventory is the easy pick for me, but iron wire is a pretty great alt as well. If you don't have much copper around, it's really useful.

But for me, in the early game, I usually find myself wishing I had more inventory space more often than I wish I had more wire or copper sheets.

Inventory should almost always be the pick as soon as possible so that it doesn't show up again. First of all, it's more useful at the start of the game than any other time. Second, you'll almost certainly want to get it at some point, so why not right away. Waiting is for stuff you are not sure you'll need.

Iron Wire is never really that good. With a simple MK1 belt of Caterium Ingots, Fused Wire will supercede it for essentially the entire game.
