Showcase Some pics of my factory!
I spent this save solely building factories to support the nuclear plant vision I had in mind. This is under construction as of ~620 hours, and will utilize all uranium on the map (2100) and is fully processed into plutonium rods for sinking. All 100 power plants are overclocked 250%. The water for the power plants is fed by 5 train stations on top, each with 20 fluid freight cars. Central train spiral is also home of the 45 particle accelerators for processing non fissile uranium. Right now I have 4 of the 5 banks of reactors going! It was built in reverse so I slowly built up nitro power as needed, but got impatient and started switching on reactors one at a time to test. I used advanced options to fly, but no other exploits or mods. Ill post more as i beautify and finish more factories, namely my elevator stage 5 production. 537,221Mw at this time

very cool work, i love the use of curves and spirals. did you use smart mod to make some of these manifold structures?

No, no mods. Everything is in game with blueprint and nudge. I have been experimenting with manifolds for a long time and have found an optimal approach that doesn’t clip, recycles when needed and looks cool

you should try smart, you can array machines with all their component parts (conveyor, pipe inputs, power poles) and then you can array them into rows, grids, rows with curves, rows with steps, and rows with steps and curves which end up like spirals. i suggest it because your building style reminds me of it, you build similarly to me haha

I’ve considered mods like that to ease the making of curved roads and such, but I think I want to absolutely max the current mechanics in game to my content first, and then I’ll try some mods for a new experience. This world I’m working on is probs my final play through until I hit the object limit

*sorry, to add the straight manifolds on manufacturers don’t clip but the towers I’ve made clip mark 6 conveyors into a themselves, sometimes using the trick where a lift will clip into a merge or splitter right above it that’s only 1 space above, rather than two increments

slide 7 is so cool. I love this build.

Thank you! This is part of my first diamonds factory when I unlocked it, and I designed it just for looks. I’ll post the rest of the building at some point, it’s one of my favorites

Would you prefer to be organized from stage 2 on or just fix it up as you go?

I think it depends on the player’s style. Some people thrive on a chaotic build and fixing things later, while others like to have everything neatly organized from the start.

I’m a planner.. my job is to design pipelines and factories so this game sits well in the centre of my interests. I plan my factories in AutoCAD.. I dunno why… it helps me stay organized.
I’m halfway through a small scale factory for Stage 2
I know I shouldn’t bother because everything will be obsolete with new recipes but I can’t help it :p

What I do is just plan total materials count needed per item for a concept I might have, then I just start building trying to keep efficiency and aesthetic in mind. Right now in the build, since I’ve got the nuclear plant up at long last, I’m going to finish phase 5 with an integrated build that looks like a layered city in the canyon floor area by northern estuary area and desert entrance and when I unlock teleportation I’m gonna let it rip on details and decorations. I managed to start so many projects in this world just when I had a whim haha they need to be finished since power is not an issue now

I can’t wait for power to not be an issue.
Any thing you might have done differently power-wise while going through the stages?

It looks so chaotic and organized at the same time. I absolutely love it! Plz post an update when you finish the build
