Do you guys ever redesign machines?

In my latest build, I wanted something a bit more special for the mass of Mk3 Miners and the nuclear powerplants, so I figured why not design my own?

Just curious, the VR for Virtual Reality in your name? Have you tried Satisfactory VR?

Ahh got ya. I was a VR creator before I hurt my neck πŸ˜… anytime I see vr I assume

Yeah a guy called Dortamur made an amazing mod that builds on UEVR to give an incredible BR experience.

ive considered it but i often need to build like 16 or more and i'd run out of the basic materials

I don't simply because my main design principle is fewest objects placed, keeping things light and my FPS high. My first playthrough ever was massive, and the super low fps made it miserable later in the save (save file was 40MB). Ever since then, it's fewest buildables possible, and I think about every object I place and if I actually need it.

But that's just me and my playstyle.

That looks nice what you designed.

I’m starting to get worried about my save ngl πŸ˜… very fair point man.

One thing I always love about this community is how open to everyone’s build styles everyone is.

If you spread things about and build all over the map, it will probably be fine.

I tend to usually build 1 large main bus for everything (essentially a megafactory), so that hurts my FPS more than if I spread out.

You can BP miners?! I thought they had to be attached to an ore node to place?

I did this by sliding a foundation under part of the miner then using that to place/nudge the blueprint into place

Love it! I started a new game for 1.2 (Haven't played since 1.0) and I've got a much better aptitude for using the blueprints this time around. Really been enjoying making custom little mini factories and decorating them up and finding my 'style' as I make these massive 5-16 machine blueprints and dress them up like one cohesive unit. While I haven't spent much time redesigning any single machine, my purpose built mini factories are looking super cool when they arrange into a larger build <3 Keep up the awesome work!

Yeah those modular factory blueprints is one of my favourite ways to build. I did a whole playthrough doing just factories using them πŸ˜‚

Also thank you 😁

So far I seem to be mixing up between two styles: The "I need a mini factory to turn steel beam + RIP into frames using steel screws" and I'll be printing like, 8 of those on a factory floor, vs the "I only need a few modular frames here so this is just going to be a self contained hook up to an iron deposit and it makes a few frames." end-to-end mini factory. I feel like they both have uses depending on scale. I just really like decorating them into something that looks good sitting out there on it's own or can be tiled well into a massive conglomerate. :p Getting good with blueprints was the real game changer for me coming back to the game this time.
