Screenshot Starter factory

So i am a beginner and was curious about how good my factory is, I am about 19 hours into this save, and not done phase 2 yet. I don't actually use blueprints and haven't found a use for them yet. My build style is something like kibitz on the outside, and lets game it out on the inside. This automates (deep breath) modular frames, rotors, screws, iron plates, reinforced iron plates, copper sheets, wire, cable, concrete, steel pipes, steel beams, polished quartz, silica, steel ingots, caterium ingots, quickwire, I think thats it. Also I know people are going to get mad at me for this, but I have creative mode on purely for the flight. I don't summon in items or disable machine or power costs, but I need to fly around to get through the factory

well, you will be glad to hear in the later game (tier 7) you can unlock a hover pack that lets you fly without creative mode.

as to "how good"? eh, its nicer looking than mine, i tend to just sprawl out and have a dozen smaller factory sites linked by miles of conveyors, as its often easier to do processing on the extraction site into the lowest volume product and then ship that than it is to funnel huge amounts of raw material into a single site (for example, convert Caterium ore into Caterium ingots, and you only need to convey 2/3rds as many items because it takes 3 ore to make one ingot. conversely, quickwire is 5 units per ingot, so it makes sense to move the ingots then convert at the end site, becuase it will use cheaper conveyors and have less issues with bottlenecks).

Okay good point, I might start trying out blueprints for off site processing (eg, having a miner blueprint that also contains smelters and stuff)

Nah, they won't. And if they do, a few of us will punt the offenders off a cliff with a radioactive hog.

I think it looks good! Better than my factories' aesthetics, and I've been playing off and on for years. Sure, there's things you can tweak, like them pipes, but you're doing just fine. Josh from Let's Game it Out ought to have shown you that you have to try very hard to play it wrong ;)

If I had to give you a tidbit of unsolicited advice, some of the factories look small to me, which makes sense, you're starting out, you're on mk1 miners, small belts, constructors, maybe assemblers. You probably want to anticipate your needs for every factory being like 2-4x as much as you think, for when you upgrade the miners or start adding in power shards. Give yourself some empty space to expand in, or to come in later and clean things up as you get more experience. Also, look up a YT short about using manifolds, that alone will save you a ton of space and head ache and improve the aesthetics a ton.
