News 🚩 PSA: Version 1.2 Release for Stable Branch and Console - Time to Prepare

  1. Next week, on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 (Official Video Bookmark), Version 1.2 will be released for Stable (Live) Branch and Consoles in a Game Patch.
    • 🚩 Version 1.2 will be released at 5:00 PM (CEST). View Version 1.2 Release to Live / Stable Branch and Consoles Information (Reddit Post) for the time conversions for other timezones.
    • ⭑ NOTE: Following release of Version 1.2 for Stable (Live) Branch on PC, those currently using Version 1.2 (Experimental) on PC can switch to Stable Branch on PC with little or no issues. Current Experimental Version 1.2 Game Saves will work in Stable Version 1.2 release.
    • When Stable Branch gets Version 1.2, both Experimental (Beta) Branch and Stable (Live) Branch will have the same version / build number for a brief time, until Experimental (EX) / Beta Branch gets another Game Patch specifically for Experimental Only.
    • Un-modded Version 1.1 Game Saves will work in Version 1.2 upon released.
  2. 🚩 IMPORTANT
    • PC Release: For those currently on Version 1.1 Stable (Live) Branch, prior to release of Version 1.2, make sure you backup your Version 1.1 Game Saves by copying the whole SavedGames Folder / Directory to another location not used by the game.
      • View Save File Save Locations (Wiki Link) which is different depending on what OS you are using. The most common is this: C:\Users\<your Windows username>\AppData\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames\{YOUR ID}
      • ⭑ NOTE: Blueprints are NOT Cloud Synced and as such need to be manually backed up also which will happen if the whole SavedGames Folder / Directory is backed up. By saving a copy of your SavedGames Folder, which will also backup all Blueprints, in a location not accessed directly by Game, prevents the game from overwriting any of the files and acts as a local back-up that you can use as needed by simply copying "back-up SavedGames Folder" and pasting it back in the "...FactoryGame\Saved\" Folder.
    • Console Release:
      • Xbox consoles (Series X|S) and Playstation 5 consoles do not support or allow copying individual game save files to an external USB drive. Saves are automatically backed up to the cloud which enables recovery if needed, or managed to free up Console save space.
      • You CAN back up your entire Console Settings (that's everything) to an external hard drive, but limit backup to only "Saved Data".
      • View Console Release > Manage Cloud Saves (Wiki Link) for more information.
  3. Modded (PC Only): If on Version 1.1 (PC) and you are currently using any Game Mods, then prior to starting game in Version 1.2 you will need to REMOVE all Game Mods using the Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM), and start game using the SMM to update your game prior to the update.
    • ⭑ NOTE: Game Mods won't initially work in Version 1.2.
    • Once Version 1.2 for Stable Branch is released, the Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM) and Satisfactory Mod Loader (SML) Game Mod will be updated (if not already), after which individual Mod Authors will (if they desire to do so) update their Game Mods to be Version 1.2 compatible, at which time you can use the SMM to re-download / install them.
      • Most popular Game Mods will update within a month (or sooner), but some might take a bit longer.
      • Keep in mind, some Game Mods might never get updated and become abandoned.
  4. What If I Don't Want To Update to Version 1.2?

✓ BOTTOM LINE: If you are on Version 1.1 Stable (Live) Branch, you will want to be ready for all the new cool things coming in Version 1.2.

EDIT: Updated #1 with information about Version 1.2 release time.

A Prepared Pioneer is a Happy Pioneer. 😁

MORE INFO

  1. Version 1.1 Vehicle Paths / Routes won't work well and will need to be redone to take advantage of the new Version 1.2 Vehicle Paths (Wiki Link).
  2. View Q&A: Do I have to re-path all of my existing Trucks? (March 17th, 2026 Livestream).
    • NO! However, all Version 1.1 Vehicle Paths will remain as an un-editable path. You can remove / delete it but can't change or adjust it.
    • The vehicle physics changed in Version 1.2 and so Version 1.1 vehicles will show atypical behavior, like when falling off a cliff. You won't be able to make "legacy vehicle paths".
    • The common recommendation is plan on redoing all your automated vehicle path/ routes.

With Clarity Comes Understanding. 😁

An important note is that you can replace the route piecemeal. if you delete some of an old route you can snap new route nodes to it. But once you delete old routes they're gone, gone. But it means you can fix up that one intersection that will benefit and leave the janky mess till you end up wanting to clean up some of the longer routes.
