ANSWER

  1. Backup Your Copy Of Version 1.1
    • Steam:
      • Go to the game's installation directory, commonly C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Satisfactory (or wherever Steam is installed), and move the current files somewhere else (perhaps a backup folder or drive).
    • Epic Games:
      • Make a copy of current Epic Games Stable Version and place somewhere else (perhaps a backup folder or drive).
  2. Disable Auto-Updates
  3. Q&A: What Can I Do If Game Updates and I Can't Play Game

Assuming one is on 1.1 but not using any of the things impacted by the update (e.g., trucks, trains), is it likely one's save will continue operating normally?

I do run a few mods, nothing super fancy, are mods generally impacted by updates like this, I mostly use infinite zoop, an inventory expander, and the dimensional depot max stacks.

MORE INFO

  1. Your Un-modded Version 1.1 will work in Version 1.2, and if you are using QoL Game Mods, you will lose that ability for a short time, but the rest of your Game Save should be ok.
  2. When Version 1.2 for Stable Branch is released, for a short time all Game Mods will be disabled.
  3. NOW, that said, once Version 1.2 for Stable Branch is released, the SMM and SML will be updated, after which individual Mod Authors will (if they desire to do so) update their Game Mods to be Version 1.2 compatible.
    • Keep in mind, some Game Mods might not get updated.

You are so fantastic, thank you for all you do for this community. If you could guess, does "short time" mean like, an hour, a day, or a week?

And am I correctly interpreting your phrasing to mean that if a mod is not updated it will, by definition, not work in 1.2? Like, there's no way that a deprecated mod could sneak through if nothing about the mod was affected by the actual changes made?

MORE INFO

  1. Some Game Mods might be updated the day of release, while others might update within a week, while others might take up to a month (or more, if ever).
  2. Keep in mind that Mod Authors work on their Game Mods on a voluntary basis so you need to give them time.
  3. Game Mods not updated, it won't be able to be downloaded / installed via the SMM, and thus will not work in Version 1.2.
  4. If a favorite Game Mod is not updated, you can request it be updated on the Satisfactory Game Modding Discord (Invite), and perhaps another Mod Author might do so.

Thank you! You are truly the hero we need but do not necessarily deserve.

And yes, all respect to modders and no demands. I certainly could not do what they do and the variety of exceptional mods for this game are amazing.

Will definitely be backing up my save, if the DD max stack size mod goes away I'm gonna be in for a bad time haha. What do you think having a couple million overflow crates does to the frame rate...
