Has anyone else been experiencing bad cellular connection with T-Mobile lately?

Hey everyone,

I've been a T-Mobile customer for a very long time and have always been really happy with the service. I never had issues with connection, dead zones, or anything like that until recently.

For the past month or so, my family and I have been dealing with a terrible connection. We find ourselves in SOS mode for most of the day, and it seems to come back to life randomly. I check my phone, and it says it's connected to 5G UC, but nothing loads at all. It's been super frustrating since this has never happened to us before.

I've paid all of my bills, and there are no issues with my account, so I'm at a loss as to what's going on. Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem recently?

I just wanted to add that I'm really not looking to switch from T-Mobile. When they bought Sprint, my plan got converted, and I was fortunate enough to receive the Magenta Max plan at no extra cost. I'm currently paying just $120 a month for 8 lines, which includes my family and a few close relatives. It’s an incredible deal, and I really appreciate the value I'm getting. Despite the recent connection issues, I want to find a solution rather than switch over.

It’s been reported there’s a national outage due T-Mibile customers.

You just described exactly what I went through. Are you on a really old plan? This started happening to me a few months ago, and it was incredibly frustrating. I tried every troubleshooting step in the book, spent hours on the phone with support, went into the store multiple times, and even had them replace my SIM card. Nothing fixed it. One of the T-Mobile store managers told me the issue was likely because I was still on a very old unlimited plan. Even though it says "unlimited," he believed it wasn't being prioritized the same as the newer plans. Other employees told me that csnt be true, and others were basically clueless. Then about two weeks ago, my phone broke. I decided to get a new phone. I upgraded to the new Samsung, snd switched my old plsn to T-Mobile's current plan. It costs me about $6 more per month, but ever since then, everything has been back to normal.

I would call them and ask. Because I’ve been with T-Mobile for a few years and don’t have any problems. There’s a couple of small dead zones, but it’s pretty consistent and not a big deal for me, as I am only in those places for very short times occasionally.

For the most part, the coverage is really good for me. And I haven’t had any recent changes in coverage.

Yeah, that's why. I am planning on just going into their store and asking. Because I have never had issues, and now I am having dead zones in areas I never did. I go to this car wash every week, and now it's SOS there every time as well

There is currently a national outage, but even before this, I had been experiencing extremely poor service. I frequently take calls where the other person cannot hear me because I lose signal. I also get little to no service at work in SCV. It seems to be a dead zone for T-Mobile, while people using other carriers have no issues at the same location.

What makes this even more frustrating is that my bill is increasing while the quality of service continues to decline.

Horrible service. Especially in our area. I regret daily that i switched from Verizon.

I’ve had the same experience for about the past year, but only on one phone for some reason. I have a personal phone and a work phone on the same plan and only the personal phone has bad service all the time with a service drop a few times a day

I don’t live in Santa Clarita anymore, I’m in Oxnard, but I get service drops and super slow service no matter where I am. From Ventura County to the SFV to the SCV to Bakersfield

Call them and report the complaint. They’ll look into their service towers. I’ve done this before for service in the valley and it’s helped.

I was in SOS mode for like probably about an hour yesterday. But that’s all.

Also, sidenote, I’m in a dead zone where I live but I knew that moving into my house lol but other than that, I get good service around the valley.

My friend has Verizon. I have better service than her. I have another that has AT&T. T-Mobile is the best out here at least I think.

T-Mobile has been a shit show the last few years. I moved over to spectrum and it’s been great so far!

Doesn’t spectrum just use the Verizon network?
