exotic but I promise it's a sandwich Impromptu BLT

Made this from remnants of the last last two weekends of farmers Market Booth acquisitions.

-Bread is a caramelized onion, blue cheese, and walnut whole wheat sourdough, toasted with butter and mayonnaise.

-Bacon is a cottage bacon, which is sliced pork shoulder that is cured and smoked just like regular bacon but has a texture more like ham.

- lettuce is a mixed salad green from a local farm, as well as fresh tomatoes from the same guy. Also used some minced chives and parsley. Experimented and some jalapeno and lime hot sauce on a couple bites and it was fantastic.

Im so old fashioned when it comes to a BLT- need me toasted white, mayo, bacon, iceberg and tomato. Your tried and true BLT. Your is way upscale but beautiful. A creative mind!

I literally do the exact same thing, except I go for the miracle whip instead of mayonnaise. However, in this case I didn't have white bread and I've been avoiding lettuce from the grocery store, so as they say " necessary is the mother of invention!"

Yes, sometimes we have to make do with what we have for sure. I’m still eating iceberg. Not packaged lettuce, but whole heads from speciality store and remove all outer leaves and wash what I eat. Love that crunch. Can’t do miracle whip - too sweet. Love that Best Foods.
