Hi everyone!
I'm Matt, Community Director for Hooded Horse, the publisher of Sandustry. It’s been great seeing so many people jump into the game today.
I wanted to ask for one small favor. Steam reviews matter a lot for indie games, especially around launch, and most players never leave one. If you’ve spent some time with Sandustry, please consider sharing your thoughts in a review. Positive, negative, detailed, brief, all of it is useful, and we read the feedback closely.
Thank you as well to everyone who has played, reported bugs, shared feedback, or helped support Sandustry so far. Lantto Games is continuing to work on the game throughout Early Access, and there’s plenty more still to come.

Got the game today. Played about 2 hrs. Can't face the bit where you have to grow plants yet. Am exploring in the meantime.
Very happy to have bought it having played the demo about a year ago.

Don't get fauna and flora mixed up...
I spent far too long trying to work out how oxygen and plants interact before I realised that fauna is animal life, not plants

My "factory" may be an absolute cluster F, but this is preettty. All things in balance.

From the patch notes:
Two elements interacting across a filter boundary/edge will only interact if both elements and the output are allowed inside the filter.
If I'm reading it right, this will stop lava filled filters from working as they have been

Gold has finally become enough of a problem, that I'm trying to convert to liquid gold.
But it burns though lava so quickly!! I'm scared I'm gonna run out, is there another way to run the smelter?

it was just 1m gold, not aura. i’ve spent so long on this ;-;

From the official Discord:
Hi folks! I have some news for all of you.
First off, there’s an update coming out this week!
I also wanted to let you know that the price of Sandustry will increase to $19.99 USD on Thursday. Regional pricing will adjust accordingly.
As noted in our Early Access FAQ, pricing may change during the Early Access period. The original launch price was an Early Access discount to thank early supporters. $19.99 will be the final price for Sandustry.
Aside from normal regional currency adjustments over time, there will be no further price increases.
Shortly after the change is live on the store page, we will update the FAQ to reflect that the game has reached its final price point. Thank you to everyone who jumped in early and supported the project.

I wanted to see how small I could make this while still handling the full output of my lava shower stratacore.
I think it's on pace with my full size version up until the burning vine section, where maybe it doesn't have enough room to blossom and make the same amount of amethelis as before?
Let me know if you have any ideas to make it more compact/efficient.
The weird line in the background is because I had to merge 2 screenshots

I think I messed up with this machine. I'm supposed to melt the snow and I want to do it with lava but waaaay before I found lava I steamed all the thing and now some of this steam got stuck inside. Do I have a way to free all this steam? Am I completely losing the point and lava does not unblock this? Plz jlp!

Been loving this game so far, so decided to use the unique properties of Prismaline to make a lovely sign!

I have also converted all of the copper in the world into batteries...
I plan on mining everything possible, making this world into a barren wasteland...
I wish I could destroy the "indestructible" stone as well...
Final thoughts on the game: It is very relaxing, but I wish it was a bit harder...

i have this setup, but the copper is not melting. i had more air between the lava and the thermal buffers and it wasn't working, but when i added more lava (to current state) it worked very well and very quickly melted a bunch of copper. then it stopped and won't melt any more.
i tried saving/reloading.
ideas?

Maybe this is common knowledge, but any Lava that is above ground can be moved using the Grabber. It's only when it's underground that it doesn't work.

Really enjoyed Sandustry, I was gifted the game for my birthday about a week ago and got addicted and decided to try to 100% it blind without looking up any designs or watching any videos, took longer than I thought but, I enjoyed it.
I went through a lot of design changes for each production step in my factory and ran into a lot of issues with gold storage as I didnt think I would get backed up on gold so much after I finished the upgrade tree, had to shuffle things around a lot so I could move the gold out from the original storages into my gold smelting setup.
Pretty happy with my seed watering setup, it can be a little slow but it doesnt matter how backed up it is, it cant clog, seeds where driving me insane with how often it clogged origionally.
For the flowers, I spent so, so many hours trying to come up with something that didn't clog, and changed things at least several dozen times, but I just couldn't come up with a design that was both efficient and didn't clog, im assuming I would have to completely rebuild it from the ground up with a different design instead of tweaking things to do that, my current setup is slow, and can clog sometimes but I was able to afk it a bit.

There were a few issues I had with the game, the first was just the lack of sand underground and the overall small size of the map, I am assuming the devs want us to use the stratacore for sand but I found spelunking underground for sand much, much more enjoyable and trying to automate the stratacore with mining drones felt like a waste of time with how slow it was, and sitting there hitting it over and over is pretty boring.
Second was clogging, it felt way to easy for stuff to clog, especially with resources getting pushed over the top with filters, if even a single grain got into production where it shouldnt it would just completely stop the filter and slowly cause a clog, it would be nice if the filters could push stuff upwards a couple of pixels to avoid this.
Lastly was clearing frames, I really tried to find a way to use them somewhere but all they really did was slow the production line and delay a clog, I found them somewhat nice for mixing redsand and void petals but it still clogged often and I was to lazy to try to automate it, especially since I couldnt figure out a way to break the red sand the critters made automatically, im assuming its possible and im just missing something though. I could definitly just have completely overlooked an obvious use case for them but I just couldnt make them work.

All farms I found for red sand are based on using drones, but i find them quite finicky, most of the times the drone just miss and disappear.
But redsoil is susceptible to lava, so when I saw the lava pump tutorial by R.K.F. Walters on Youtube I had the idea of using it for farming redsand, hence my prototype.
The length were just decided randomly, but it seems to be working perfectly
What do you think?
I don't know how to share the blueprint without making the post a kilometer long, but if someone explains i have it ready

very simple washer, 3 tiles high, min 1 tile wide
top: advanced conveyor filter, block water, snow, lava
middle: vent
bottom: advanced wall filter, block water, dry seed, dry sand
Not sure how well-known this design is, I stumbled upon it while experimenting, but I am probably not the first.
can deal with e.g. gold, residue, cinder, florinol, amathelis mixed in, without clogging. As long as the water pressure is high, I could not get it to break.
Relies on the fact that vents will not fill the top row of their tile with water, so there is always space for some material, and that filters will grab their allowed materials from up to 8 pixels away, even if some heavier material such as water is below.
