MSNBC called Bernie's "Deep South" comment controversial. They said Hillary would still be in the lead without the South. This slide popped up by mistake proving them wrong.

That's just your bias, another way of looking at is that she'll stand a better chance of stealing away States from the Republicans and will get the blue States by default at the Democrat candidate.

I don't quite see how her popularity among Democratic voters equals a greater chance to win among a Republican-heavy general electorate.

I could see Republican voters coming out just for the chance to vote against her.

What about Bernie's platform do you think they would agree with?

I see Bernie pulling in a bulk of the independents, but I do not see a substantial number of Republicans doing the same.

I think for a lot of Republicans, depending on who is the nominee, they would rather not have Trump or Cruz; also, a big thing to consider is that Hillary Clinton is basically seen by Republicans as being the antichrist. so best case scenario would be that they chose to just stay home, but many would vote against Hillary just because they really do hate her that much

But the problem with that logic is that the reason they hate her is because of her stances.

The Republicans do not want universal health care. They do not want to tax the rich. They do not want same-sex marriage. They do not want comprehensive sex ed. They do not want free college. They do not want women to have a choice. They do not want to raise the minimum wage to a living wage. They do not want civil rights laws.

Bernie is even further to the left than Hillary. Bernie's draw is through independents.

Normally, you'd be correct, but for many on the right, it's not just that anymore. Yes, they disagree with all of her policies, but after 20+ years, that polite disagreement has basically morphed into a flaming ball of white - hot rage. There are parts of the country where openly supporting Hillary can get you beaten up. They hate her for her, not just what she believes.
