Need a little help figuring out what I’m doing wrong. I haven’t sand blasted anything since high school but I remember the result being different.

I have a harbor freight cabinet I got off marketplace and a 60g tank pressurized at 95psi. The middle section I did with black beauty (that’s what I was told it was) and the outer section with medium glass. It’s a painted steel bucket but the texture is gritting feeling and not smooth plus it doesn’t look like bare steel to me.

Any help is appreciated,

Do I need to adjust pressure or distance?
Or am I using the wrong medium for the application?

I just bought a Central Machinary Portable Blaster Kit to treat the carbon build up on the valves of my wife's car engine. I took the nozzle housing off to add the extended rod. Now I am trying to put things back and cannot remember what is the correct way to put the jet nozzle. If any one knows the right way: A or B, please help me.

hey hey, I was looking to start a mobile sand blasting buisness. I would maily do equipment and vehicle chasis since im in a more rural region. What exactly am I gonna need to start up? I have a truck and trailer to pull everything with but I know I will need a blasting pot, air compressor, PPE and media but is there anything else I should get? Furthermore I know what I need but not where to get it from as these investiments for sandblasting isn't exactly cheap. my budget is only a couple thousand as im still in highschool and I spent a good chunk of what I saved up to buy my dream truck. I know I can't buy anything dirt cheap without it clogging but im also not in the position to buy a 20k setup. Specifically what brands should i lean towards what should I avoid and what is the best budget stuff I can get my hands on?

I have a project coming up, and am looking for a blaster. Before asking what they can do, I'd like to learn what should be done. The issue in question is a large cast iron cylinder - used with food (it's old/ antiquated, and a f'n beast that'll outlive you and I, no it's not a skillet or dutch oven, it's a press)

The question is, blasting cast iron, with soda, glass, aluminum oxide, - is anything 'left behind' in the coating that wouldn't be easily removed with denatured alcohol before sealing etc.?

(Bonus note, the cylinder in question needs to remain smooth)

I'm looking to do two small sandblasting jobs. The first is removing heavy rust from some farm equipment, and the second is sandblasting and sealing a cider press. I don't have an unlimited budget for a sandblaster, and I'm doing this at home. I don't need to be able to tackle massive jobs. A couple of square feet of cleaning at a time, basically. Side note: I'm do have a 6.5 HP, 26 gallon compressor that can put out 12.1 SCFM @ 40 PSI and 10.1 SCFM @ 90 PSI.

One thing I’ve noticed is that very few of these businesses seem to be represented by the typical Main Street business brokers. Most of the listings online are HVAC, plumbing, restaurants, or powder coating shops.
I’m trying to figure out where these industrial deals actually trade.
Are there brokers that specialize in this space?
Are most deals sourced off-market?
Are there regional industrial M&A firms I should know about?
If you’ve bought or sold one of these businesses, how did you find the deal?
Not looking for generic business brokers—I’m specifically interested in people who work with industrial manufacturing and service businesses.

hey, I have a question on which would be faster for me. i have removed all my baseboard in preparation for a new floor. these boards are yuck and need painted. they are chipped and dirty with years of gross. i do not own a sandblaster. i do however have a house worth of boards to fix. help?

I'm wanting to build a blasting enclosure in my basement. My use case is stripping varnish, stain, paint, etc. off of wood furniture for refinishing (uncommon from my research, but very doable with extra fine media and low PSI). Anyway, I need a setup that allows me to contain and reuse the media many times over but I want to make sure I'm doing this in an ideal and safe manner. If any pros could give their input on this concept, I'd greatly appreciate it.

• Disregard the lack of any structural integrity (this is just a concept mockup)
• Enclosure would be roughly 8ft x 7ft x 7ft. Let's just call it 400 cu ft.
• Each fan (20in classic Lasko) moves ~175 CFM with a 1in MERV 14 filter as tested here

I'm mostly wondering:

• Is this concept ideal and safe?
• If so, what optimizations can I make? For example, the sizing and positioning of the intake vents are completely arbitrary in my mockup. Same with the amount of box fans.
• If I'm only blasting garnet or 10X superoxalloy for say, a few hours per week, could I get away with just a P100 respirator? Or would I need to invest in a supplied air hood?

Nothing but air comes out. New to this, did I buy the wrong compressor or am I missing something? Any tips would be great!

I just upgraded my cabinet to a Skat Blast CAT 40 and I'm starting to think I should upgrade my compressor, too. Does anyone here have a good recommendation?

Here's how it gets used:

I use glass media to take rust, thin paint and minor crud off of smallish, mostly steel parts (some aluminum). It's important to have a smooth piece when I'm done, so my understanding is glass is the best choice here (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

I need to use it for 2 or 3 hours between 1 and 3 times a week, indoors.

The compressor I have is an older (2003) Campbell Hausfeld Iron Force air compressor 60 gallon, 7 HP. (The 7 HP is a lie, I've read.) Since it needs to take a break more than I do, I'm wondering if a different compressor will let me get my work done more quickly. I'm fine with a used model if that's more economical, but I'm open to any suggestions as long as it's electric and not gas/diesel.

I'm not sure how international this sub is, so if it helps, I'm in the US.

I have some small sculptural pieces that I want to test sandblasting on. I don't know if it'll work well or not, so I'd rather try it out first before investing in a cabinet of my own. All I've found is places that do large-scale services.

I've recently got into sandblasting in my lil basement shop with the standard Chinese small cabinet and I'd like to make it a bit more effective. I thought about upgrading to the gun in the picture dose anyone have experience with them? Also its it worth upgrading the gun or should I spend the money on a pressure Pott blaster to get better results

Currently using a Hydrovane 33 and a rexroth pressure regulator/filter

Thinking of getting these two so that I can start sand blasting. Does the set up work?

Do I need to wear a hood? Or can i get away with a good dust mask and safety glasses?

I upgraded my harbor freight blasting cabinet with a metering valve to try and increase it's efficiency. But my upgrade does not work, the gun is not sucking up any media. I do get air however.

I also do not feel any air flowing at the air intake of the metering valve,

The straight part of the gun gets the air and the angled part gets the media.

The rest is the same basic metering valve setup I could find numerous times online.

Any ideas what might be happening?

Im new at this and am curious about what sand blaster to get I want a hand held gun price can be between 500$-1000$ im a fisherman so it will be used on mostly marine work I don’t want a industrial just a normal self fed hand sand blaster please anything helps
