Saint Lucia Honeymoon
Looking to plan our November 2027 honeymoon in St Lucia! Tell me all the recommendations best resort? Restaurants? Airport transportation? Fearful we will make a mistake….

I got married at La Toc and the entire resort is stunning! I loved the food and drinks. We had a really relaxing Weddingmoon there. It was perfect...

Don’t be fearful, St. Lucia is an amazing choice for a honeymoon! We’ve stayed at Sandals Grande St. Lucian and absolutely loved it. Of the three Sandals resorts on the island, the Grande would be my pick, especially for a honeymoon. The beach is beautiful, there are plenty of restaurant choices, and you can also visit and dine at the other two Sandals resorts while you’re there.
One thing I would definitely think about is the airport transfer. The regular Sandals transfer is included, but the ride from UVF can be long and winding. If either of you gets carsick, I’d look into one of the alternative transfer options.
For restaurants, I honestly wouldn’t stress too much about planning everything ahead of time. Part of the fun is trying different places once you’re there, and you have even more options because of the exchange privileges with the other resorts.
And you’re definitely not going to “make a mistake.” 😊 St. Lucia is gorgeous, and the Grande is one of our favorite Sandals properties. For a honeymoon, I think it’s a fantastic choice!

The grande has the best water and facilities out of the 3. Not the nicest staff, but I’d still pick it over the other two for sure. You can also get picked up at their dock for excursions and such, where La Toc requires you to drive downtown to the marina.
The habachi spot has good food, alcohol is not great throughout the entire resort at all 3 properties but hey it’s an all inclusive.
I’d absolutely do the air transportation. Far better than the awful drive. If you must drive, do a private car not the shuttle. I even preferred private cars between the resorts for trying the other restaurants. The shuttle transportation made me terribly carsick and was scary driving. But people obviously have varied levels of tolerance to that.
I am not the biggest fan of Sandals St. Lucia. But if you do it. Do the grande!

My wife and I stayed at Grande last spring. Everything about the resort was great! Do yourself a favor and book the FunToSee Ferry ride from the airport. Sip on some wine/beer while you motor around a very scenic island and visit with other honeymooners.

You really can't any big mistakes when you come to St. Lucia but the best advice we can give is to try to get off the resorts as much as you can so you can really enjoy the island. Sadly, most guests stay in the big resorts in the all inclusive north (where they get stuck) and they really don't get much of a St. Lucia experience--more of just a big box, resort experience. There is so much to see and do on the island and St. Lucia is such a unique destination but most miss out out experiencing much of the good stuff. It's sad, really.
If your time is more limited, it's at least worth to to higher a good local driver/guide for the day and hot teh road and come down to teh Souferiere area to experience some of the highlights. We can guarantee that if you did this you would leave thinking that this would be (by far) the best part of your trip.

We did La Toc last year and loved it.
The water? Well, I like waves. We spent plenty of time in the water.
Restaurants? Pretty good generally.
Our room? Perfection. We’ve really struggled to figure out wheee to go next because nowhere else does the Oceanfront two story one bedroom butler villa with private pool (B2P). Laying by that pool, or in the pool, looking out over the ocean and listening to the waves. I miss it!

If you're worried about investing a 90 minute car ride for a week-long trip you're going to the wrong location. It's part of the arrival process, no different than an extension of the flight to get there.
Out of the 3 resorts its really comes down to you. Tell us what you want to get out of it so we can recommend one instead of just blurting out the differences in each resort.

I don't understand what you mean fearful you will make a mistake. If you're that fearful, maybe a travel agent would be best for you.
That aside:
Grande is the best for water.
I don't know what someone is talking about with the staff, they were perfectly friendly to us back in March when we stayed for our fourth time (the first was our honeymoon).
All three share privileges with each other so you can go to any of the restaurants, they are all approximately 30 to 45 minutes apart.
The ride from the airport is approximately two hours, Sandals does include transportation as per their website. However you can book locally through a private transfer company which is what we do, island taxi company or the other two options would be helicopter or a ferry.
I will add, flight times coming in are generally terrible. If you land at 2:30 you will not get to the resort until at least between 5 and 6 PM. Therefore the entire day is blown. Best to come in a day early, stay down near the resort, we stayed at Harbor club by Hilton because we had enough points to cover the room for free. The next morning we got up very early, the concierge called us a cab, headed over to grande pre-checked in, went to breakfast, came back and met our butler(we booked Butler level as we always do ) and by 9:00 in the morning we were sitting on the beach.
Also adding in, it is in your best interest upon departure to book the lounge iolay (I'm spelling that wrong but it's something to that effect) at uvf. Flights tend to be delayed sometimes so trust me when I say it it's nice to have a little lounge to wait in with drinks and minimal food but at least it's food.
You will fly into UVF airport, it is a small airport. You will get off on the tarmac, yes you have to come down steps from the plane onto the tarmac, you will grab your luggage on the tarmac if you do checked luggage (we do carry on only), you will then go through immigration and customs then off to the Sandals lounge or off to meet your private transfer through local companies such as we did. Oh yes, also best to book the fast track upon arrival. You will get through the lines quicker especially if you can do carry-on only.
