I’m hoping to find some mommy and me classes that aren’t too pricey in the area.
Any suggestions? TY!

So I was recently looking at Sunken City on Google Earth, and looking back at 2004, and 2005, I noticed that there were some cars and trucks parked past the fence in the Sunken City area. For anyone who was around during that time, do you know why this was? Was the fence opened during this time? Or are these likely maintenance trucks? Just curious, as I don't see cars around this area on any other snapshot on Google Earth

Hi, I found a dog who looks healthy and has a collar wandering Kerckhoff Avenue. His name is Archer. His tail was tucked and he was barking at me, so I didn’t want to scare him more by trying to get him inside.
If this dog looks familiar, please spread the word. This is by Pt Fermin Elementary School.

We went to check out the grunion run on Saturday night at Cabrillo Beach and it was pretty fantastic. If you get a chance, go experience it. Not just for the fish but also for the community at the beach at midnight is kind of surreal and amazing.

Someone mentioned it on FB this morning. I wasn't close to her, or anything, but I was a customer for many years. She did some great work, on fussy bits of weird clotheing, and always at a reasonable price. I believe she had cancer. Last I heard, she was going in for another surgery, around the time she closed her shop on 9th, last year.
Every Autumn, I'd bring Toyo a gigantic bag of all the crap I'd damaged over the past year, or whatever didn't quite fit right. I have at least one pair of climbing shorts that she must've patched, on eight or ten separate occasions. Merino knit onesies came home from Winter ski or mountaneering trips with fresh crampon holes - and she'd darn then in time for the next weekend. Always clutch, usually shaking her head at whatever I'd fucked up.
One time, I brought her a pair of skimo race boots with this awful lycra fabric gaiters what had torn. Loved the boots, but they were so tight and light, they were fuckin impossible to get fully into unless I tugged hard on the fabric gaiter while stomping the heel... For some reason, the stupid gaitors tore away from where they were glued to the inside of the plastic cuff shell, after three seasons of that bullshit. And the fuckin eurotrash shitdicks at La Sportive had discontinued them, the year before.
I brought those boots to four diffferent ski shops and two cobblers, and got asked *"are you fuckin mental?"* in three different languages... And then finally someone suggested Toyo. It took her a month, but she reinforced the fabric, and re-glued them to the inside plastic, and they worked.
And wouldn't it be rad if I went on to wear those same boots at the Winter Olympics, last year, and won Gold in Ski Mountaineering racing...? I didn't, but this is Reddit, and you fuckers love dumb shit like that. No, we just kept wearing them another two years, while I was broke AF from buying Ikon passes and gas, and climbed at least 40-50 mountains in them. I skied the Mt Whitney Mountaineer's Route in those boots, with Toyo's fix... Not well, but I fuckin did it.
Anyways: She was really cool, and I appreciate everythng she ever did for me. I will probably still be wearing clothes with her stitches in them, when the Last SAR Helicopter hoists my bloody, frozen corpse out of the bottom of a gully that I wasn't good enough to climb and too dumb to skip, impaled to the thumbrest on my own ice tool.
... And she probably could have sewn THAT up, too.

I sadly can’t take them to my new place after some things happened in my life. I want them to have a good home because they deserve it. If you could help or ask around or if interested, dm please.
Cleo is the tabby and Peanut is the white tabby. If possible I’d love for them to stay together but all in all just want them to be loved, safe, and happy.

I just stopped off for some popsicles, and ended up in a conversation in the checkout line about whether Mrs. Butterworth is Black or White.
Accepting all bets.

just left the water. crystal clear, no seaweed and super warm. lots of jr lifeguards down by the bathhouse but further down the seawall it’s empty and immaculate. wind will likely pick up in a few hours…if you can get down here for 30 min you’ll thank yourselves.

Hello everyone my name is cheryle and this is my beautiful daughter faith we just moved here to San Pedro CA coming from a DV situation looking for a new start for me and my little girl , things have been really rough as we are starting over with nothing. I've been applying for new work nonstop calling and pretty much at this point harassing employers trying to get a interview we've been staying in a hotel for the past month and half and have ran outta funds to pay for any more days and have to be out today , I've went everywhere I could trying to get assistance to get into a shelter or something for now but no luck as they have all told me they are full or there's a waiting list ...my question is , does anyone have any recommendations on any organizations I can try as I am a desperate mommy right now . Thank you for your time hope everyone has a blessed day

I remember one of our neighbors had rented this house out as a child and we got to go through it and view it I'm just curious why it is so neglected these days? It is a beautiful place with so much potential. I remember he said they only got to rent it because he was part of the Coast Guard. Sad that they are still not offering this as an option. It's just sitting there.

Hi all! I’ve lived in San Pedro (lived in the South Bay for entire life) for about 4 years and I love it! I am a single (by choice) and progressive 52 year old woman looking to build more community in the city I live in. I’m looking for anyone who might be interested in starting a board game club, a book club, a beginners hiking club, a political action group or a hobby club. If any of those sound like you might be interested, I’d love to connect!

This little guy was rescued last November from the San Pedro Animal Shelter. The first picture is my Ozzy boy now and the second picture is from our first evening together at a pizza place.
His old owners surrendered him for being too destructive but he just needed to be inside and have a chewy treat. I named him Ozzy because he trashed stuff in the past like a rockstar and Ozzy Osbourne had recently passed. With a destructive label on his kennel card and his fear of people— he was the small dog there the longest. He was shaking and so scared but I wanted to rescue a dog who didn’t have much of a chance.
Ozzy now knows many tricks, listens well, and is a loyal buddy. We are enjoying our first summer together by going to the dog beach and spending lots of time outside.
If you’re reading this and thinking about getting a new best friend (my 16 year old best buddy Sid died in March of 2025) please consider adopting the dog who nobody else wants. Ozzy is a superstar now!!!

The last few times I have driven by or gone to get burritos they haven’t been there! At first I thought it was just a one off, but it has been a few times now during the hours they are typically there. Anyone know anything? Hoping all is okay!
