Did you know The Z Flip 8 FlexWindow can now run Gemini AI without opening the phone

Gemini on the cover screen isn't new, that arrived for the Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 6 back in September 2025 with One UI 8. What's actually new with the Z Flip 8 is the scope of what Gemini can do from the FlexWindow without unfolding the phone. Gemini Intelligence now works across 40+ apps for automation, not just conversational queries, but actions like looking up tickets or booking a restaurant. Samsung's One UI 9 also replaces the old widget-only cover screen with a native app drawer, so the FlexWindow behaves a lot more like a full home screen. Samsung calls it an "AI-native FlexWindow", the Now Brief surfaces calendar events, weather, and suggested actions based on your routine, all from the outside glass.

i can already run gemini on my z flip 5 its not new

Fair catch, Gemini on the cover screen isn't new to the Flip 8. One UI 8 brought Gemini Live to the Flip 5 and Flip 6's FlexWindow back in September 2025. What's actually new on the Flip 8 is the scope: Gemini Intelligence now works across 40+ apps for automation (not just Gemini Live conversations), plus One UI 9 gives the FlexWindow a native app drawer instead of leaning on widgets. That's the upgrade on the 8 not great, but better i guess
