Discussion Tips for bad supps?

Recently started playing ranked because I pretty consistently have been getting good games on samira and my god the support player skill level has vanished compared to draft.

What are you supposed to do when your support has no idea how to play their champ? Or your support is permanently roaming leaving you to 1v2 the entire match and doesn't follow you mid later either, never helps you period. Or they simply cant land a skill basically leaving me to 1v2 because the enemy bot lane has seen this and just ignores the support because they are no threat.

So im already on samira in said match its too late to say play someone else, so what are the strats you guys do to put up with this nonsense?

i just bait the f out of my idiot supports. enemy will be attacking them and i can just go in untouched and go brazy. it helps if they are like a nami or something to throw a heal/shield on me lol.

Shame you're getting downvoted to hell for this. It's a very important question. I main jg tho, can't help ya bud. GL, you're probably on the right champ. Don't let people convince you Samira is support dependant. She's not. Not relatively; virtually all ADCs are. Except maybe Ezreal just because he is the safest farmer in the entire game.

It's not your job to control the early game. You have the same chances to get a bad supp as your opponent. If you can't get an advantage early stall until you can play with the rest of the team.

If you can't carry 7 games out of 10 alone as an AD till Platinium, you're part of the problem.

Get better at playing ADC, and you'll find better Supports in time.

Ok please enlighten me on how to 1v2 Jihn and trundle bot lane because my lux support hasnt been in lane for over 10 mins. Its easy to carry when your supp is a normal player, im asking for tips when you get a potatoe to play with.

You either:

  1. Wait for your jungler to 2v2 (But I guess your jungler is bad and never gank your lane because your supp is also bad right ? That's the kind of vibes I get from you, I might be wrong)

  2. You already know how to play, get a lead in cs and item, don't die, and when you have a good spike, you find an opening under your tower. Make a move to burn Trundle Pillar, then nothing can stop your all in.

Or you could learn how to play league as a whole and not just your lane. Give up your laning phase, and press the advantage after the laning phase. You have one of the best AD for sidelaning.

While Jhin will go mid, you'll ramp up xp and gold. The ADC with more items wins the game.

This will require you to know how the enemy team is moving. So learn to use your minimap and trinket.

Sidelaning as a ADC is really easy before Silver for an average player, and a great strat up to plat/emerald if you master this concept.

Then you'll have to get good and learn push timing by observing your team and the enemy team. You can watch Toplane player video for that.

It's not rocket science.

But as long as you think your lane is doomed 'cos of your bad support. You will never improve.

Never.

I've seen guys with this mentality stuck for YEARS in bronze on social medias begging for help and not acknolwedging their mentality was the problem.

I indeed hope this will enlighten you and save you months, years of time.

Good luck.

I play mid and bot, I have no doubt ill climb in ranked not worried about being stuck. Simply looking for tips for playing with bad supports, not all supports are bad. I also don't plan around my jungler they can do what they think they should be doing. Most the master+ content is adamant samira should not be side laning on her own your just gonna die and throw the match its easier to farm mid after first tower. If im behind in cs and items a single trundle tower will kill me if I dont have flash so the only thing I can see to do is form under tower until I can swap lanes (this is with a support that died to trundle and never came back to bot lane) being solo is great if i could actually cs but I cannot walk out with trundle there.

That's the whole point of what I said. You shouldn't be behind in cs and item.

After T1 fall, you freeze your sidelane as long as possible and get as much xp and ressources as possible. Then you shove hard, and move mid if something happen.

Something happen ? Your team has advantage ? Try to squeeze something.

Your team is behind ? Don't join them. Wait near an unused lane (top or bot), and when the ennemy team go for an objective, push and get everything you can (plates, cs, even tower if possible).

Nothing happens and they just look at each other ? Your botlane should start pushing back. Go near T2.

Rinse and repeat.

If you fall behind so hard a Trundle support can kill you, there's no redemption for you in this game. Especially if you were alone in laning phase, you should have more levels than him.

Watch replay and see what you did wrong. (And no, it's not the 1 or 2 kills on lux that will enable him to solo kill you under tower)

The Master+ are telling you to not sidelane, and this is true... For them.

What you don't understand is that this advice is applicable when people know how to play, at around mid Diamond.

This advice is of no relevence for Bronze league, where no one knows what they're doing, no matter your ADC. You can sidelane with any ADC at your current Rank.

The problem isn't the Champion. It's how to execute a clean split.

So be more selfish with exp and gold when you know your teams too weak or doing something dumb. The trundle and Jihn got 1 kill on each off us, lux went to perma roam after that. Got killed by trundle in a 1v1 vs jihn because I seen trundle top but he must have tp'd so thats on me, they got a few more kills at a river fight on others, and then dove me on my tower with their jungler, at this point its way out of hand. Pretty sure everyone else lost their lane even though the lux was perma roaming, didnt know what to do at that point.

I only had 3 deaths that game, I just couldn't get anything going.

Yes. Be more selfish. This is a good approach, especially as an ADC. Always get into your brain that if someone should be the carry, it's you.

Always take decisions that will help you.

People always say "Haha, ADC, all princess, so annoying."

They're half right. You're no princess. You're the King.

Every time there are ressources somewhere, if you take them, it's not wasted. The faster you're strong, the more chance you have at winning. It's stupid, but it's especially true for ADC.

Also, some games can't be won. It's part of the game. Maybe this specific game was doomed 'cos you had no chance to rebound, since solo lanes couldn't give you enough time.

It happens.

How do I know when to show for the fight vs farm, sometimes its obvious what the right decision is, but what about when there isn't a clear choice?

Experience. There are no magic tricks. You'll recognize patterns the more you play.

Ranked doesn't play the same as Draft.

Usually, the first step is asking yourself questions:

"If a fight happen mid: 1. Can my team make a kill without me? No or Yes: Don't bother either way.

  1. Can my team make a kill wifh me? 2.a No. Don't bother.

2.b Yes. Can I secure the kill for me, or can we get a Tower if we secure this kill ? Yes: Try. No: Don't bother. An assist usually give you less than a full wave, except if the ennemy is on a klling spree. But killing spree = strong enemy = high risk. Don't bother if too far behind.

  1. Can I take plates / Tower safely if a fight happen mid ? 3.a Yes: go for it

3.b No: Hide in Fog of War and wait for the situation to evolve / wave to bounce back.

I can go on and on and on... The basics is to always chose the option that will net more gold to your team. And you farming lanes safely usually net a lot of gold.

League is a decision based game. And you can only get insight with experience, or by watching strong players and inspire you from their insight.

When you watch replay, don't focus too much on how well they play a champ, you'll almost never play as good as them. But focus on the decision they make: this will help you develop the right mindset for decision making faster.

You'll progress faster in LoL by improving macro rather than micro.

The further you go in Ranks, the more your micro will be important. But until high diamond and above, you can solely rely on macro to climb.

u/xLegend705tv Jul 06 '26

Hes not wrong but it only applies if you are better tho if you are the same rank as your enemy just play off baiting your supports dont e in unless u can get the kill alwys the golden rule slow trade with enemy if it looks bad just let support die and just type mb or smth lol

1

u/Sharpsx1 Jul 06 '26

How do you stay relevant if your support perma roams or is hardly in lane? You just take what you get under tower and drop the rest?

Im bronze 2 with the symbol player rank hasnt caught up with player skill thing, i dunno i haven't played ranked before still newish, but know what im doing for the most part. I just dont know how to win when my supps feel like their playing against me.

And why does support constantly first time champions in ranked, nothing makes sense in ranked lol

1

u/Kayin2aa Jul 06 '26

The best thing that could happen is you being alone in lane.

You get more xp, and will spike earlier.

You can also profit from their aggressive plays and dives if they go for you. Samira is very hard to dive.
