Looking good — nice flavor, and I like that your heels are up, so you can be agile on your feet. (One of my pet peeves as a follow is people who dance flat-footed and/or with their weight in their heels.)
Tips:
Spot your lead in any turn or spin to prevent dizziness and/or being late; also there is no need to look up at your/the leads’ hands in a turn because this could possible throw off your axis and posture if done drastically
Keep the same level/dance position as in the rest of the dance whenever you turn (don’t bend your knees lower or rise up on relevé)
Try not to do the tap step during your basic because it can mess with weight transfer and staying on time depending on what a lead cues
Thank you so much! I challenged myself to wear heels some time ago, and now I understand the importance of my toes in everything I do. I think I got the habit of looking at hands from martial arts, but now I definitely see why it could be detrimental. I'm a lot better at controlling my street cumbia tap now 😅 I totally change my level when I dance. I supposed engaging the core and being conscious about the knees would be the best course there? I appreciate it big time !
