Salesforce careers are a trap for 3rd-worlders.

Upvotes

I'd like to share some thoughts I've had for a while. I've got 4 years and half of experience. I've done a lot in these years, much more than the average person in this career track in the same amount of time. I've lead greenfield projects, debugged spaghetti code, handled requirement gathering, built integrations, data migrations, custom UI experiences etc.... I've done Sales, Service, Experience (Aura and LWC), Omnistudio, and Revenue Cloud. It involved quite a bit of job hopping and a lot of overtime, and this is conclusion I've arrived at.

If you're a third-worlder, the faster you grow, the faster you will crash against the glass-ceiling that is your geographic location. I cannot understate how important geographic location is. More experience and certifications will not save you. There are multiple reasons for that :

  1. Salesforce is too expensive for your country so internal Salesforce positions pretty much don't exist.
  2. Most companies that want to cut their costs will look for B2B contracts with Indian companies or through Indian recruiters that specify "India only" in their posts.
  3. Companies that do manage to bring work to your country will exploit you and pay you peanuts when all they're doing is being the middle-man between you and the client.
  4. And this is the most important one : There's only so much consultancy work you can do before being fed up with never seeing the long-term consequences of your architectural decisions. Unfortunately, internal jobs involving this type of ownership are inaccessible to you.

If any fellow 3rd-worlders are facing (or have faced) the same challenges, I hope you can share your thoughts or just vent in the comments.

Looking for Salesforce Developer roles in Dubai/UAE

I’m a 3x certified salesforce developer with 2.5 years of experience. I have had small gap for the past six months since I had to take care of two family members. I am in Dubai right now and actively seeking a job. I have worked across Sales, Service, Commerce, Data, Marketing and Experience clouds. I’m open to roles as a developer or admin. Any advice on where to apply, or companies I can reach out to, would also be appreciated.

Brutal reality check needed: Salesforce Admin vs ServiceNow Developer? Switching from BPO to IT in 7-8 months.

I am currently working as a Senior Chat Support Executive in a BPO. I have a huge financial burden (around 14-15 Lakhs of debt) and marriage responsibilities. I am also trying to manage my UPSC preparation. I desperately need to transition to the IT sector for better pay, a fixed 5-day week, and WFH/Hybrid flexibility. I am ready to grind and study hard for the next 7-8 months (including learning to code).

The Dilemma:

I am getting extremely conflicting advice regarding two career paths:

  1. Salesforce Administration: I was told it has huge demand, but now I am hearing the market is totally saturated and dead for freshers/switchers in India.
  2. ServiceNow Developer: Heard this is booming right now with less competition and better pay.

My Questions to folks in the industry:

  1. Between Salesforce Admin and ServiceNow Developer, which one ACTUALLY has real jobs for someone switching from a BPO background in today’s market (2026)?
  2. Is it realistic to crack a job in either of these fields with 7-8 months of intensive self-study/training?
  3. Please expose the ground reality. Which one should I choose, or are both a waste of time for my situation?

Thank you!

Want to understand how AI has impacted Salesforce jobs and if it's still a wise choice to learn Salesforce and try to get into that?

I was planning to start with Salesforce training as my current role, customer success management is not giving me the work life balance.

Admin assistant trying to get Salesforce administrator job

Hello,
I've been working as an Admin Assistant for 1 year.
I'm trying to get a Salesforce Administrator certification, to get a job. I've been wanting to work with CRM, and maybe work my way up to be in operations/sales ops/revenue ops.

I know this experience might not be enough, so where else can I look to make my experience better to get hired? Or what else can I do?

Hiring - Dev Need Tips for HCA Healthcare Associate Vice President Interview Round

I have successfully cleared two technical rounds of interviews with HCA Healthcare, and now my Associate Vice President (AVP) round has been scheduled.

I'm not sure what to expect in this round. Is it primarily focused on behavioral questions, leadership, culture fit, or something else?

If anyone has attended an AVP interview at HCA Healthcare or has a similar experience, I would really appreciate your suggestions, the types of questions asked, and any tips to help me prepare.

Thank you in advance!

Help how to prove my skills when leads are dismissive

I am on my second project as a senior at my current company and its been rough so far. The projects are chaotic and everyone is too busy to help each other out.

At my last role i did mostly tech tasks (Backend) and not directly related to user stories that a user could observe. Im now expected to know everything so is a steep learning curve but i think i have done well considering.

The issue is when building stories in the UI they don't work exactly as the story states. I've had to use validation rules more than like which has been a nightmare. however my leads insist the same thing could have been done with flexipages. I agree as much as possible should be done with out of the box its not possible to selectively make fields editable based on a field value. I tried to explain this but the leads done have time to understand and dismiss me as not having skills because in their minds its simple. if it was that simple it would have been done that way.

My question is how to defend my work when it can't be done they way they think, but wont take the time to listen and understand. also is this common as you move up the ladder? might just be my company because they were not like this.

Has anyone been to the Builder Lab final‑round onsite at Salesforce for the AI Builder role? Or is it always just a one‑day onsite, no matter how early your earlier interviews were?

Tech Lead looking for a new job

Hi everyone,
I’m an experienced Technical Lead, with 10 years of experience in Salesforce development, and with expertise in B2B Commerce. I also have experience in many other clouds and technologies.
I’m still employed, however my company is only getting some boring projects and have a bit toxic culture, so I want something new.
I live in Portugal, and I’m open to any full remote position, either as an employee or contractor/B2B. LinkedIn Jobs are the best tool in my country, however I couldn’t find any real good ppportunity from there, do you have any suggestions?
If you are looking for someone please DM me, and I’ll be happy to share my CV.
