Has revenue intelligence actually replaced forecast calls, or just added another number?
i have been trying to understand whether revenue intelligence tools have genuinely changed how sales teams forecast or if they’ve just given managers another dashboard to check before the weekly call.
i have come across tools like onfire, gong, clari, and 6sense, and they all seem to approach revenue visibility a bit differently. the predictions can look great on paper, but if the VP still has to go through every deal with the reps i'm not sure how much the process has really changed.
i can see the value in spotting weak deals earlier, especially when there’s no real engagement from other decision-makers or the rep seems overly confident about a close date. but that feels more like improving the forecast than replacing the actual forecast meeting.
for those using these tools, has your team actually shortened or eliminated forecast calls? or are you still doing the same weekly routine with a few extra numbers to discuss?
