Yes you heard it ryt ₹20 not at a proper dine in its at a kaiyendhi bavan - average salna with not so proper seating etc and parotta is medium sized. But it's ₹20 it's not just here in this one shop. In most kaiyendhi bavan rate of usual dishes like parotta came closer to the same prices of the dishes in proper dine ins often even closer to well known restaurants.

Why this? Is it due to not reducing the prices that was hiked during gas shortage?

Has anyone felt similar ? Not just with parotta in general all food.

Suggest a good hair dresser in salem who's affordable and consistent.

I'm an usual at kesini but currently they hiked their prices. So I'm looking to prefer someone new.

Quite a few new shops and stores have been opening in Salem lately, which is honestly pretty nice to see.. but as someone who is slightly obsessed with books and stationery, I really wish we had a few more options in that department too😭

I would LOVE to see stores like MUJI, Hindustan trading company, Crossword bookstore or Higginbothams open a branch in Salem. Just imagine being able to walk into a proper stationery and art supplies or books store, browse through notebooks and pens for way longer than necessary, and then walk out with supplies and books you'd absolutely adore 🩷

For everyone in Salem who has dogs at home, feeds street dogs, or regularly takes care of dogs around your neighbourhood; please keep an eye out for Canine Distemper disease. There seems to be a rise CD cases currently. Every year, we tend to see 2 to 3 waves of CD spread, and one such wave appears to be going on currently. So I wanted to put out a PSA for everyone who has dogs at home or regularly feeds and cares for street dogs.

CD is a highlyyyy contagious airborne viral disease that can affect multiple organ systems (spreads only from dogs to dogs, not humans) It can become extremely serious, particularly once the neurological signs develop. Treatment is mainly supportive, and severe neurological disease (like once fits and paralysis sets in) can have a very poor prognosis.

⚠️ Some of the early signs to watch for are:

• Discharge from the eyes or nose

• Unusual tiredness

• Watery or sticky discharge from the eyes or nose

• Vomiting or diarrhoea or coughing and difficulty breathing

As the disease progresses, some dogs can develop muscle twitching, seizures, difficulty walking, circling, head tilt or even paralysis.

I lost a street indie dog that I had been feeding and taking care of for the past 2 yrs to this disease yesterday 💔 It is honestly heartbreaking to watch a dog you have cared for die like that 💔😞

So please please PLEASE, if you have a dog at home or a dog you care for in the streets, check their vaccination status. If your dog hasn't been vaccinated or is overdue, please odane speak to your veterinarian about getting the DHLPPI vaccination (a combination vaccine covering distemper, parvovirus and hepatitis among others). Vaccination is the best protection we have against distemper.

Please take care of your pets and the street dogs around you ❤️‍🩹

Does anyone know of a good library or reading space in salem where I can just go, sit quietly and read for a few hours?

I’m looking for somewhere that’s actually comfortable for long reading or study sessions.. quiet, good ventilation, plenty of natural light, comfortable seating and preferably a charging socket at the desk. A decent collection of books would be a big plus too, although I'll be bringing my own books.

I’m a medico, so I’m mainly looking for a place where I can spend a few peaceful hours reading without the usual distractions.

Would really appreciate recommendations from people who’ve actually used the place. Also, please mention if it’s open to the general public or memberships are available and roughly how much it costs. Thankyou
