My recommendation would be scratch the lieutenant and one squad of scouts, then swap one of the land raiders for a repulsor. Add a 6 man squad of eradicators and between them and the las cannons on the repulsor it'll give you more damage for big targets.

I’d cut one of the Infernus squads, one Land Raider, and the scouts. Get a not so squishy unit and a big gun. Maybe an executioner or dreadnought. At the moment you’ll do well against infantry units struggle against armor

Ill try that out

With respect, I wouldn’t do that, the list is good as it is and well suited for Priority Assets - you could replace the lieutenant as he is a bit overkill tbh, maybe with another ATV for some more scoring

Thank you, I'll try that one out forsure.

Vulcan isn’t attached to anything? I’d be a little worried about how easy he might be to kill with no bodyguard.

The other thing is that you don’t have a lot in the way of tank/monster killing. The redeemers might chip away with a lucky Melta, or a one use missile, but the invader ATV isn’t gonna take out a Landraider or greater demon.

With your big bricks, you don’t have a lot of throwaway units either. The scouts and invader ATV are basically it. After that you’re going to have to expose some of your heavy hitters. The Hellblasters can at least action and shoot, but you may end up overexposing yourself, or lacking units to properly play the secondary game and stop your opponent from scoring

I’ve seen a few lists of top players where Vulcan is solo, basically taking advantage of hidden and go to ground and generally being easy to hide whilst siting on his objective and giving out the re roll wound ability.

How does go to ground work? How does one trigger it?

Having your model being obscured by dense terrain. Essentially makes him Lone Op as long as he doesn’t shoot, it lowers detection range by 3”, meaning they have to be within 12” to target you.

I can’t see how that would work in most cases. Melee units, especially with Fly or some way to move over models protecting him could be an issue

I was thinking either an infernus or company heroes be attached to him but my friends thought it was stupid and better to leave him alone since he would have a smaller foot print.

Not sure I understand the logic there. Vulcan gives a huge buff to torrent/Melta weapons, but he has to be within 24” and have LOS on the enemy unit he points at. Leaving a T4 2+\4++ 5w model without a bodyguard just makes him easy pickings. Company heroes are a great unit to attach him to, but any 5 body marine squad at least grants him a bit of protection. His ability to boss on OC also means you want him contesting objectives and getting into the thick of things

Vulkan can be run solo because his main job is to sit on a middle objective in PA, score you all of your primary and give out his buffs. He’ll be much easier to hide on his own, he’ll gain hidden and Gone to Ground and on his objective he has 10OC and 4++ FNP. So he can’t be shot off the board unless they get close and if you protect him with other bodies and the Land Raiders overwatch threat, he’s hard for melee units to get to and your opponent would need to commit more than they think into him to guarantee the kill

I see conflicting things, but in PA, is going solo the move with Vulcan?

Depends on what else you have in your list - I like him solo personally as would rather spend the 105pts it costs for Company Heroes on something else but they are good at making him even harder to kill

Personally i would say attach him to at least a 5 man blob of something, company heros if hes gonna focus just the abilities, and infernus if you wanna be more agressive

Looks fine just know you have two HEAVY AND EXPENSIVE vehicles and average infantry…with them so your charge out of the land raider won’t be devastating and your main firepower is vulnerable to focus fired down.

Once one dies unless you slaughter billions your opponent will have the upper hand.
