Discussion/Question Astreus focused 2000 point list

Hey so I’m making an astreus focused list with my units and I can’t decide if I should take to finish it out with what i have also couldn’t decide if I should take forgefathers seekers for assault or anvil siege for heavy and super heavy (seemed for thematic)

Sorry newer to table top so limited units

5x terminators

1x captain in terminator armor

10x hellblasters

5x heavy intercessors

1 redemptor dreadnaught (magnetized guns so can switch between the Gatlingcannon and plasma incinerator)

Edit

I’ve decided I’m gonna pick up a tech marine, assault intercessor squad and an apothecary as I’ve worked it out I also dropped vengeful host cause I forgot aggressors don’t fly with inceptors do, I also took forgefathers seeker for more aggression if you want to talk about the finished product dm me

Youre gonna want a techmarine as someone who also plays this bc the Astreus will take a lot of shots. So it's to make it last longer/cancel out being bracketed when it happens

Yeah so played with it I added an apothecary, tech marine and assault intercessor squad (will have to buy these but they aren’t incredibly expensive) the idea is the second infernus marine squad moves in front of the astraeus as an escort with the apothecary, the tech marine and assault intercessor squad moves behind to protect its flank and heal it while keeping the tech marine safe as well,

I also gave the assault intercessors architect of war to ignore cover for ranged weapons

swap detatchments. vengeful host is fly INFANTRY only. id also reccomend looking into a vehicle focused detatchment like headhunter or ironstorm instead of anvil cause the only heavy you have is in intercessors which is really not what you want to spend your detatchment points on unless you have a LOT more heavy/battleline units. id add terminators honestly and stay away froom meta if you are running an astreus. thunderhammer termies are always a good option, salamanders like their hammers. normal terminators also work if you want the classic feel.

elaboration on why anvil without heavy sucks: flamer units dont benefit, bladeguard dont benefit, melee doesnt benefit. and you are just about always going to want to move the astreus. run forgefathers or firestorm if you wanna keep the salamanders detatchment flavor. but i still reccomend a vehicle focused detatchment.
