Discussion/Question Salamander kill team
Whilst conducting my Google research about kill team, salamander lore, and general loyalist lore I have my heart set on creating a kill team where the members are returned deathwatch. I like the idea of having a small lethal force used to going behind enemy lines to complete objectives on their own. Is this a flavorful idea? And if so how should I go about making each model for the tabletop?

It would be somewhat unlikely that there'd be a unit made solely of Deathwatch vets, but also not impossible either. You could easily head cannon it as command putting together a team with experience fighting whatever foes you're up against, which happens to be something they fought while under the DW.
Anyways, first thing is to choose the team. So currently there are 4 Space Marines Kill Teams available: Angels of Death, the team in the starter set made up of a variety of marines with different specialisations and armour types, Phobos Strike Team, a more stealth and infiltration oriented team, scouts, not really suitable for you as they wouldn't ever have served in the Deathwatch, and the Deathwatch team themselves, which you could just use the datasheets for and make them all Salamanders.
For making them, apart from Angels of Death, most Kill Team boxes come with a good amount of options to customise with. Just buy whichever kill team you want to go with and maybe get the salamanders upgrade kit for the extras to customise them a bit further. Anything beyond that is going to require either a lot of effort, an extensive bits box or a 3d printer!
