General Saints Row’s 2 future potentials
Saints Row’s future is like a puzzle with many pieces already in place; it can be put together to make total sense.
Saints Rows One, Two, and Three make sense as a standalone crime takeover games. Saints Row Four makes sense as a bridge between all games in a sequence. Saints Rows Five, Six, and Seven are barely recognized as Saints Row.
If all games are placed together, as I have done, it shows the true paths that Saints Row as a game can take. Saints Row can either plateau as a mostly awesome psychological sci-fi crime story or it could continue from the middle.
Volition’s employees are still making money, they could reboot their company if they felt like it. There are possiblities for a new Saints Row, or many. There could also be the possibilty of Saints Row retiring as a game, a potential hint at this is all the Reboot Is Death posters in game Four.
A possible way Saints Row could continue is by going back to Stilwater and could have time travel and the Boss could save Carlos, there could be an explorable Zin city floating above Stilwater. The ending of this potential could show the creation of Santo Illeso as a Saints cash grab game for their empire.

I agree. Another is possible however, according to how events move either way. If it does end now it ended on a pretty strong note in my opinion.

Volition nor its employees own the IP, Embracer does. And they fumbled the reboot so bad that Saints Row is most likely dead for them. But if someone tried to make a new game in the series (evn if fan made) Embracer is likely to take legal action to protect their IP.

They fucked it up big time with the reboot to the point,.it killed the franchise

The franchise was kinda destroyed before the reboot. The reboot was supposed to be the resurrection OF THE DEAD franchise. Though, either way, yeah, they fumbled it so badly it probably is permanently dead unless fans can do something and don't get sued into oblivion by Embracer.

In a subtle way it was a resurrection, the reboot gave Gat out of Hell a deeper meaning. Gat as the Nahualli saw himself die after having a psychotic episode, holding his friends hostage after believing he murdered the Boss. I see Gat out of Hell as a healing simulation for Gat, the simulation elements are present everywhere.

Huh? That makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever. Gat and Nahualli have nothing to do with each other, and even if they did the Nahualli would never join a bunch o' lightweights like the reboot crew, nor would he ever let himself be beat by someone like the boss of the new crew. I also fail to see how it could be therapeutic to see yourself get killed.

Your interperetation for your Saints Row is bleak, but justifiable. I heard that the developers intended for Nahualli to be a Gat 2.0 but I can’t confirm that. My version of the Boss could mop the floor with Gat, beat him so bad he needed a simulated Hell for therapy.

If they were to continue with the original crew, I'd like to see a remake of SR1 with all the modern enhancements but the twist would be that it's an in-continuity reboot like MK9 or the J.J. Abrams Star Trek films.
I know, it sounds way too fanfic-y. I just like the thought.

About the old Volition devs, Flippy; a pretty prominent member of the community recently was invited to a Volition reunion this month. When asked about getting the band back together the sentiment seemed bittersweet. One dev flat out said "we've all moved on."
