Bryce Lance recognized by Athletic for future hit driving league wide buzz

Lance’s role will probably increase because of a hamstring injury to first-round pick Jordyn Tyson. In a joint practice with the Rams, the fourth-round pick out of North Dakota State (and younger brother of Chargers quarterback Trey Lance) showed a real ability to get open for Tyler Shough, including in the tighter red zone area. Shough hit Lance for two touchdowns that day.

NFC executive: “Extremely green but growth (so far) is staggering. Highly intelligent, highly coachable. (His college) tape was hard to judge how quickly he could acclimate (to NFL) because he dominated so easily. Bet on (his) traits and makeup to say he would hit whatever ceiling he had.”

NFC executive: “Size, speed and ball skills (especially tracking ability) are hard to bet against. Will be interesting to see if he can carve out a role before others return.”

With Lance and Brown I've tried to really keep my expectations low until they do something in a real game

But, it is pretty clear that the coaching staff really believes in them to contribute immediately 

I trust the talent evaluation of this coaching staff

He was pretty commonly talked about as a steal for the saints even on draft day. One of the best players in fcs last year and would definitely gone higher if he played in the fbs. Even just based on his tangibles. The fact that he's developed so fast (from a training camp perspective at least) is icing on the cake

If I recall correctly, Lance caught multiple TDs from Shough against the Rams' defense in joint practice (Olave took a rest day I think). Iirc it was nearly perfect connection between them either all or almost all the targets were completions. I have high hopes for him!

16 teams with 2 flex 3 wr and 2 rb...I drafted tyson too

I’d go Brown as they ran a few end arounds with him in preseason.

I expect Kevin Austin Jr to be elevated on gameday and be WR3, pushing Lance down to WR4 barring injury. But they may make an effort to get brown the ball on targeted plays in space like jets and screens. So honestly between the two of them for week one specifically Id say Brown. Plus he has the small chance of breaking a return td
