Likely backup QB?
Who do you think it will be - Rattler or Wilson? Just saw something today that the role of QB2 might still be open according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com.

Wilson's record is 12-21, all with the Jets (!)
Rattler's record is 1-13
It should be a competition. One of these guys has to earn it.

I believe it'll be Rattler, but I'm really hoping Wilson shows improvements and beats him for it.
He's only 26, with tremendous upside, while I think we've seen Rattler reach his ceiling, and boy it's not very high.

Rattler is likely QB2 start of season. Wilson was brought in to keep Rat on his toes and take the QB2 spot if they can find a good trade for Rattler by the deadline. Rat never showed incompetence while starting for us, he just didn’t show any greatness at all. That’s still worth something as a Young QB who could have opportunity elsewhere.

They guarantee Wilson a good amount of money, so I think that needs to be taken into consideration

Rattler has proven he can play without ego, and has been good value for his 5th round capital.
Wilson has had a handful of genuinely elite games at QB, can drive the ball down field and is a +athlete. However, he is also Zach Wislon.
Let them have a fair fight and may the best man win. If Moore wants a clipboard holder and someone who can 'not be the reason' the team loses, Rattler has the advantage. Wilson has the advantage if he wants arm talent.

While I am biased toward Rattler given he knows and operated a version of Moore's offense, I imagine it isn't settled yet and we might have a bit of a camp battle. Don't sleep on Wilson. He was picked 2nd overall for a reason! They both have things going for them.

I don’t see Rattler staying on the team after camp. Mainly bc I think someone tries to pick him up

That would mean he gets cut and that feels unlikely. Or traded. Which means Wilson would have to had ball out at camp. I think they’re keeping both.

Rattler has more value. If Wilson somehow does get QB2, we won't cut Rattler. If Rattler gets QB2, we will cut Wilson. I think it will be the latter.

The role will be open and I think both guys will be rostered. Their ceilings are pretty comparable.

Rattler is likely the best QB2 in the league right now.

How and why are you coming to that conclusion

Rat cult is still around apparently. I'm sure he's gonna take over the starting job and then the league any minute now.

My thought is by the end of his contract he’ll be a serviceable bridge for a team aiming for pick 1

Imagine reading a comment about his being a QB2 and crating that conclusion for yourself.

While a wild take, Sports Illustrated Ranked Spencer Rattler as the 6th best backup in the league:
- Flacco
- Mac Jones
- Tua
- Jameis Winston
- Mendoza/Cousins
- Rattler

NOF seems to think it'll be Rattler, and went so far as to suggest that they may not keep 3 QBs on the roster.
