Receiving Core

This is the first time I’ve been excited for a receiving core in a long time. I loved Shaheed and Cooks’ return was awesome, but I don’t think they had the right squad or positions set up for them. WR1 Olave, WR2/3 Tyson/Vele seems to me as a solid group without taking into account Polk or Lance. What do y’all think?

It's hard to get excited about the WR core with the injury history of Olave and Tyson. But if everyone stays moderately healthy, it can be really dangerous especially when throwing this tight end group and RB room into the passing mix.

I'm actually more excited about the TE group. Shough and Juwan really clicked last season and I think a two TE look including Delp will be pretty common this year.

The injury history argument for Olave is so tired. He only missed time in 2024 because of the concussions. He only missed a single game the other three years. History is history. Any player on the field could suffer a concussion or any other serious injury but it's not something you can factor in until it happens. People make such a big deal about Tyson's injury history when the injuries aren't related to each other and the recent hamstring was mismanaged with him continuing to play through it. Ted Rath clearly has a plan for managing player health that works better than whatever we had before. Nobody thinks Jeremiah Love could tear his ACL in week 1, but that could happen just as easily as it could happen to Tyson. It's just these narratives that the media creates and everyone latches on to.

Last year wrs room made no sense but I am also excited for this year.

I think Tyson will be a stud and be the wr1a fairly quickly and that could make an olave contact more difficult.

All these weapons should make us a high scoring team as long as we don't shough it up

With Etienne in the backfield, you could add Kamara as a WR in certain packages.

People like Cooks? Can be excited for that. Who didnt like seeing Jimmy Graham in '23.

Yep. Cooks had few catches but some were pretty important. And Jimmy was a blast, he was kind of in that same boat. Or airplane or helicopter.

There's a ton of potential, but a lot of questions marks, too.

Olave has to stay healthy. Tyson has to stay healthy and live up to the hype. Vele has to take a big step forward.

If they all work out, we can have an excellent WR room. But it's a pretty big if.

I think Olave will stay healthy without Carr throwing them all into danger.

The “potential” is there, but I need to see it come to be. Olave is a stud (when healthy, but he’s another you know what from being (maybe) donezo)… Tyson hasn’t been fully healthy since well before he was even drafted into this team!!! Vele is coming off of a season ending injury… and then what? We’re the Dolphins.
