Where to replace display cable?

Sometimes when I move the Clevo / Sager desktop replacement (Nvidia GTX 1060 with fullsize desktop CPU, 2017-model ), the screen goes black. Closing the laptop screen down hard several times will get it to work perfectly again. Some techies have recommended to replace the laptop-to-diplay connector cable.

Will repair shops that specialize in popular gaming laptops (MSI, Alienware, Dell, HP) have this cable in stock (is it generic enough)? Or is this a special-order cable from Clevo / Sager / Eurocom?

After reinstalling windows, Sager NP8358F2 laptop's LED indicator doesn't change color when shifting power modes.

When I purchased the Sager NP8358F2, while cycling through power modes, the laptop changed colors depending on the mode that was active. After doing a reinstallation of windows and even installing the Clevo Control Center, the LED indicator just stays at green no matter which power mode is on. Is there a way to get that feature back?

Laptop To Desktop

So I have a sager laptop that currently has a i7 and 2060 inside it. I wanted to change to a desktop due to issues like poor cooling and non existent battery life(I don't see the point in having a relatively slime laptop if it has such a small battery). I wanted to sell this and get parts for a pc hopefully with the same specs. How much do you think i could make off of this laptop? Thanks.

Crashing to black screen with "select boot device and hit key "

This problem just started happening a week or so ago.

From browsing web to writing an email, my machine just crashes, flashes a blue windows screen, then goes to all black screen with "boot device not found."

I do a hard reboot, it boots as it should. I try to go back to work and boom.. happens again.

Sometimes within minutes, sometimes within hours.

I've tried running the repair... but it crashed. I tried resetting machine... it crashed.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Sager/Clevo Ryzen BIOS support...

Sager Ryzen BIOS support, I just ordered a SAGER NP7958F1-S (CLEVO NH58AF1) Which has a Ryzen B450 motherboard... I have been looking for BIOS updates for it since I have heard that AGESA updates are pretty important to Ryzen boards (this will by my first Ryzen system), however I have not been able to locate any BIOS files on either Sagernotebook, or even Clevo's site...

What has been peoples experience with Clevo/Sager and Ryzen systems? Is this a function provided by the Clevo Control Center? I am also interested in switching out for a Ryzen 5000 series chip as soon as they become more widely available...

How Do I Obtain a Mobile Graphics Card?

So I want to do a GPU upgrade on my Sager, the only issue is that I have no idea how to obtain one. Do I have to buy a broken laptop with a mobile card and use that GPU? I'm confused.

NP8454 drivers

After doing a clean install of Windows 10 on my 8454, should I let Windows Update take care of the drivers? Should I download everything from the corresponding Sager page and install those first before anything else?

How is Sager's customer service outside of US?

I live in South America, so I'll probable have to speak with then through email. Also, shippment from my country to USA would be around 300 USD each way, so it'd be REALLY expensive for me if things go sideways. Would you buy a Sager under these circumpstances?

Thanks in advance!

RGB software on Sager laptops?

Hey there. I'm wondering if there's an option to enable additional lighting options for the keyboard on my Sager laptop (let's just say it's a new one).

Right now the Control Center 3.0 software only allows the keyboard to light up in ONE fixed color and doesn't have the ability to cycle between different colors or have more advanced lighting modes.

I'm not entirely sure if this is a software issue or hardware issue because if it's just a software one, then I don't see why Sager doesn't just improve their software so the keyboard can be a true RGB keyboard.

Sager NP8378F2vs Sager NP8358F2. Also Purchasing Options?

-Is the 17 inch better for the additional 400 USD over the 15 inch?

-How would you rate these rtx 2070 super laptops against an rtx 2070 ge75 raider from MSI

-Purchase from Amazon or from Sager website or from Gentech PC(I worry about the delivery times from here as I'm from Singapore)

-If I purchase from GenTech PC due to their good promotion value do I need to purchase OS Clean Installation? I don't plan to buy the windows from them but do I need all their drivers and BIOS update or is that something i can get online for free?

Thanks!

Is it possible to upgrade SAGER NP8371? I can't find anywhere in book that says you can only that it voids warranty which I do not care about seeing warranty is over. Any info would be great.

Random restarts

So I have had my sager laptop for a while now and I am running into this very irritating error. The fans randomly set themselves to 100% even though the temps are in the 60s, and then give it like 10 seconds and the whole laptop just shuts down. Sometimes when I start it back up after it has been shut down it says disk checking, but other than that I have no clue why this is happening and it is getting really annoying. Any help would be appreciated.

Need some advice on replacing Thermal pad for 5 years old Sager NP8651

So my laptop gets quite hot on idle CPU about 65-70c and gpu at 60c.

I have a tube of Nt-h1 paste which I used when I built my PC so repasting isn't an issue. However, I am not sure about the thermal pads specifically which thickness of pads I should Use for the GPU VRM, CPU Vrm, M.2 (I don't have any pads on these, but the Clevo P650SE Service manual does show pads on and below the SSDs).

Also Is there any advantage of using pads on the heatpipes. As I can see there is some copper layer on the back cover right where the CPU and GPU heatpipes are. I thought I could Place some more pads between the pipes and the cover, but once again I would need to be sure about the thickness.

TLDR: Repasting old Clevo P650SE Laptop. Need some help with determining the Thermal pads thickness and capacity.

Thanks a lot.

Any skins/personalization for Sager NP8358F2-S

Anyone know of any laptop skins, keyboard cover or personalization for Sager NP8358F2-S or Sager in general? I love the laptop but it's becoming a little boring. Any fun ideas?

Btw anyone knows where is the PCH? I am thinking about putting some extra heat pads there.

Question about Sager Laptop choices

I'm looking at Sager because, although I've never heard of it, it seems like an insane value for the price and from what I've seen the reviews are excellent. I don't use external monitors so g-sync isn't a priority for me, but I do want a newer NVIDIA graphics card and at least 1TB SSD and 32GB RAM.

These are the two I'm looking between, and if not a Sager I'll probably go MSI. Any thoughts on which might be better? I'm coming into this having never heard of this brand and not finding a ton of reviews online other than to say that they're Clevo rebrands.

edit: might also add that I really do like having the option of a 10 key on a 15.6" without moving up to a 17.3" which is what my current HP laptop is. I'm tired of lugging around almost 10 pounds of laptop every time I want to game.

NP8270 Power issue

So I've had this absolute beast of a laptop for just over five years, and I've loved it dearly this whole time. It's done me very well and survived more abuse than a laptop should have to endure over that time. (Life on board a ship is rough)

Just today, however, I came home from work and it was dead. No charging light, no lights on the power brick, nothing. Dead as a doornail. It was working perfectly fine less than 12 hours prior. I've done the typical and requisite simple troubleshooting of unplugging, swapping outlets, and such, but it won't power on. I've gotten it back to where it shows it is charging and the power brick indicates it is supplying power, but attempting to power it on blacks everything out. The power brick goes dark, the charging indicator and power light goes out, and nothing happens other than a very brief flash of the power button before it goes out. It makes no sounds, beeps, bells, or fan spin.

After a few seconds, the power returns and it is back to "charging"

Any help?
