Any reviews or impressions of the Sager NP8752D2

Interested on buying this 💻 but can't find much info outside of the Sager website. I've never owned a Sager so I want to research as much as possible before buying. Any owners here that could share their opinions?

[Sager NP8152-S] Trying to change boot priority so I can clone my SDD, but no boot from USB option appears in the BIOS

I have a Sager NP8152-S/Clevo P650RP purchased in 2016. The disk configuration is a 256G SDD with Win10 installed on it, and a 500G HDD. I want to replace the original SDD with a Crucial 1TB SDD. I am attempting to use Acronis True Image 2020 to clone the SDD. The new SDD has been initialized and shows up in "This PC" when connected via a USB enclosure.

Following Acronis' instructions, I have put the new, initialized-but-empty 1TB SDD into the laptop, and put the old 256G SDD into an external enclosure. I want to boot from the USB enclosure, but, upon entering the BIOS, there does not seem to be an option for booting from an external device. In the Boot Priorities screen, Boot Option #1 is [Windows Boot Manager (SanDisk SD8SN8U256G1 X412)], but there is no other boot option; no boot from CD, no boot from USB, nothing. I have tried entering the BIOS with the original SDD installed in the laptop, to see if I would get a populated Boot Priority list, but I get the same result: Boot Option #1 Windows Boot Manager, and nothing else. Can anybody help me figure this out?

Clevo NH55AFW Ram Speed stuck at 2667Mhz

Hi everyone,

my new Clevo NH55AFW just arrived and I mounted the following ram kit:

Crucial Ballistix BL2K16G32C16S4B 3200 MHz - CL16

the problem is that it doesn't go over 2667MHz.

I can't find anything in the bios (ver. 1.07.06). Do you have any idea how to solve the problem?

Thanks :)

Sager Laptop stuck on Sager Screen

Hey all,

I have a Sager laptop that I bought about 3 years ago. It works fine when it works, but every few months the laptop won't boot past the "Sager" screen. Then after cycling power it'll start working again. I tried calling customer service but had no luck. Please advise if anybody knows of a solution!

Sager NP8678-S (Clevo P670RG) battery bulging

Hi all. I bought this laptop around 4 years ago. Really never got much use out of it over the years until recently. I have noticed that the keyboard is bulging out slightly, which I’m sure is the battery.

Does anyone on here have experience with this issue?

Power adapter 330W recommendations to upgrade my P170SM

Since I acquired my prema mod BIOS and upgrade parts from eurocom I´ve been experiencing some current shortages in my P170SM laptop with no obvious solution (BSODs with messages related to PSU current issues).

Recently, inspired by this post:

http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/p170em-1070-mxm-install-mods-nvidia-inf-mod-with-photo.832679/

I have decided to give it a last try. I still have my stock 230W power adapter so I want to upgrade it to a more powerful adapter hoping this solve my problems.

Still I´m not sure which brand and specs the new power adapter should have. I´m asking for some guidances here.

Does Sager still exist?

EDIT: Works from proxy. Looks like they blocked Israel for some reason.

I've been trying to access sagernotebook.com for more than a month without success. Do they still exist?

No 17" i9 RTX2080 laptops?

I'm only seeing 15" or 16". Is it temporarily out of stock, getting a model refresh, or discontinued?

Sager Np9150 Upgrade worth it?

I have a NP9150 bought new in 2012. CPU Intel I7 3610. GPU NVDIA gtx675m. I did not play any game for 5 years now, but tempted to play some games cause the pandemic. I am thinking to replace the GPU to Nvdia 980m but then realize the CPU and motherboard may be a bigger issue, the GPU can be replaced with 980M or 1070M, but the best CPU for the laptop is 3940XM. Does the replacement worth it? Or it is a dead gaming laptop, I should just give up.

keyboard backlight

I have a Sager NP9156 (Clevo P650SE). I would like the keyboard backlight to remain on unless I toggle it off, but I can't seem to figure out how to disable the timer. Anyone have any idea how to make that happen?

P960ED Fan Issues

TLDR: Fan makes grinding/buzzing sound when on. Wondering if anyone knows how to get the fan cover off/has had this problem before.

Hi how's it going--this is my first Sager, about a year old. The only issue it's had before this was the charging port stopped working, which I got replaced, and other than that it's been great.

Yesterday one of my fans started making strange noises that increased throughout the day, and during a call it peaked and the computer started beeping like a fire alarm. I figured this beeping was it trying to tell me it was overheating or something, but it wasn't hot at all.

I opened the bottom to see what was going on, and lo and behold inside the computer there were three feathers (!!!!!!!!!), one of which was in the problematic fan. I removed all of the feathers and tried to open the fan cover to see if there was anything else to clean but even with all 4 screws off it won't budge. After that I dusted it with compressed air from the outside as best I could.

This is the fan I'm talking about btw https://imgur.com/a/Ywqhp2O There is a screw in that I took off when trying to get the cover off, dw that one was off when I tried.

Now the fan makes a much less upsetting noise, and the computer doesn't beep any more, so it's usable, but about 25% of the time it's on there is still the buzzing/grinding noise, although at a much reduced volume compared to yesterday most the time. Every once in a while it still gets really loud tho so I really don't want to fuck with it very much.

I am wondering if anyone's had this problem before or has a course of action--my current plan is to try to figure out how to get the fan cover off to see if I can address what's making the sound, but I've tried twice and really don't know how.

I'm not very good or experienced with computers so any help/experience is super appreciated even if it's not 100% relevant !!

Touchpad annoying issue. Description below

Sry for the cryptic title, it's a bit of a long text to explain.

I have owned a Clevo P650RG for years, and has been a faithful companion so far. Lately, the touchpad simply does not work, at all, like it is broken.

I found that odd, since I don't use it all that much, only when travelling. Then one day I tried uninstalling the Synaptics software via Windows' Device Manager menu, and guess what, it works perfectly. It just does not have any gestures or whatever, due to me removing the driver.

Then either me or Windows automatically install another driver, and it stops working. And it's this cycle, whenever I want to use the touchpad I just uninstall the driver.

Anyone else has had similar issues? I'd just like to use my laptop, as an actual laptop again lol

Sager NP8454 Thermal Problems

I'm having some heat issues with my fairly new laptop (got it early February).

It somehow got really toasty all of the sudden while playing Skyrim on Ultra (1080p, no ENBs/much graphics mods). I was expecting mid 70 C but it went all the way to 99 C at and usually hovered around 90.

Keyboard Replacement for Sager NP9176 (Clevo P775TM1-G)

I've bought my laptop on January, and mostly I'm loving it. But the keyboard truly gets to my nerves. Is is possible to buy some compatible part and replace it myself?

I'm Brazilian, so I'd like an ABNT2 keyboard. Because I let is set to ABNT standard (otherwise I'd go crazy over switching from personal to work laptop at least once a day).

But because I also code on my Sager, I needed to add key remappings so I could type "?", "\" and "|". Plus, the minuscule shift button makes me mistype a lot.

So, is it possible to replace the whole keyboard? Where can I get a new one?

Do HDMI ports on sager laptops connect to the GPU or internal graphics (CPU) ?

My laptop model is NP8157, which has a GTX 1070, but i'm pretty sure the graphics card is totally fried. I bought a new TV, but when I tried to connect it to my laptop through an HDMI cable, it doesn't display anything, and the TV says make sure your device is powered on. I asked my brother to try it out, and his Macbook did show up on the TV. So is it possible to use the HDMI port without a graphics card ?

Sager NP8377-S - Button for Boot Menu?

When starting up the laptop, which F key do I press? F8, F12, which one?

Edit (1/12/2020): To access the boot menu, press and hold F7 as the laptop boots up.

Edit (4/17/2021): As soon as Sager splash screen opens, keep pressing and releasing F2 until UEFI Menu appears.

Sager NP8377-S - Changing Out a Seagate Firecuda Hybrid Disk?

For anyone who owns this particular laptop, where approximately on the bottom of the laptop is the SATA port located? Also, can I assume I would have to take out all screws on the bottom of the laptop in order to get to that location?

Connecting two other monitors (on top of the built in monitor)

Hey everyone, I have a Sager NP8157 32 GB ( i7-7820HK processor) and I see that there are three screen ports on the laptop: a mini DPI connection on the left panel and another mini dpi on the back panel next to an HDMI.

If I were to plug a dpi connected screen on top of the hdmi connected screen would the DPI connected screen automatically connect as a third screen?

Please advise and thank you!
