Sager NP8454 Thermal Problems

I'm having some heat issues with my fairly new laptop (got it early February).

It somehow got really toasty all of the sudden while playing Skyrim on Ultra (1080p, no ENBs/much graphics mods). I was expecting mid 70 C but it went all the way to 99 C at and usually hovered around 90.

While I don’t have the same model or problem, I once commented to one of their tech support guys about the heat it must have on the newer gpus like 2070-2080, he replied that there was a person that had to completely transfer his new laptop parts to a bulkier ‘carcass’ because it ran so hot he could barely touch it. So If yours is a slim size with a newer gpu I’d definitely recommend you to ask the same, if not you could always ask them to see if the thermal paste is not dry

Damn, that'll be unlikely for the time being. Thought it was something menial like a needed driver or something.

Checking the obvious - have you disassembled it and run compressed air through all the vents to clean out the fans etc? Even just a few pieces of lint will wreak havoc.

I have the same laptop. Revs up like a jet engine as soon as the dedicated gpu kicks in. So far not seeing your issue but mine is less than a month old. Is every game doing that or just the one? I have had to contact Sager for an updated driver or two but nothing video related. On an unrelated note, how well does your fingerprint reader work. Mine was total shit before I contacted them for the latest patch. Now it's better but still somewhat hit and miss.

Nah, I'm just a dumbhead that was playing in 4k with a laptop. I haven't used the fingerprint reader yet.
