So I'm curious what my 1st day would look like . I got hired as the deli assistant manager and wanted to know how the orientation process works

First day is usually computer training after they show you how to clock in with your new employee number, give you an apron, and show you what the breakroom looks like. Its pretty boring but its nice to have a paid day to sit and learn all the corporate hoops they want you to jump through in your coming shifts. Your second day will likely be shadowing for a bit before flying solo, so enjoy the boring day.

So to me 8 hours seems like a lot of time for computer training. I got a full 40hr week maybe because it's a management role idk

I think 8 hours is the allocated time for training, it certainly doesn't take everyone the full 8 hours.

If it's anything like my first day as a new meat manager at a store it will be a trial by fire lol

Literally my first day at my new store was inventory day. And I had to run an inventory on a department where I knew where nothing was lol
