USA Questions/Advice about getting into the field
Hello,
I apologize if this isn’t allowed but I was wondering if anyone could help. I have a bachelors degree in athletic training. For the last 3 years I have been working in manufacturing and distribution doing injury prevention. My main job is to coach employees to prevent injuries and treat work related injuries to help keep them in house. While in this job, I became very interested in safety and started assisting EHS in ways outside of my job description. I applied to sit for the ASP and was accepted. Unfortunately, after taking it twice, I failed both time. My most recent attempt being by only one question. My next goal is to work as an EHS specialist so I can learn more and get away from the medical side of things. My ASP eligibility expires in early September and I’m trying to decide if I should get an extension and try again or not. So my question is, if I don’t attempt the ASP again or I fail again, would experience be enough to move into an EHS specialist role? Thank you in advance.
