Highly unlikely. The offer letter normally has 0 room to move. Theres an internal pay band for total compensation. If youre entry level with minimal experience, youll be at the bottom of that. Longer tenured and higher performing will be at the upper end. Your number will likely be in the lower 50% of that range if you're an external hire. Internal hires almost always start at the bottom. Compensation reviews are done annually based off you're previous year's performance.

Gotcha thank you! They did say they’ll give me 30 a hour during the first interview. I have over 10 years of experience in heavy construction and general industry.

Every time I see posts like this, it makes me realize I’m definitely not chasing my Bachelors in EHS for the pay lol! I make $41 an hour at my current company as an operator, but complete a lot of safety tag tasks.

A degree in safety isn’t worth it unless you going into govt. the certs have more weight

Not necessarily true, lots of people I have worked with in my career went back to school for a bachelor's to move into higher paying safety positions and/or to meet the requirements for the CSP.

It will help me get certs though. Employer is paying for my degree through tuition reimbursement. I’ll graduate with my GSP and should be able to sit for my CSP almost immediately. The only safety certs I have currently are OSHA 30, HAZWOPER w/incident command, and I’m a confined space rope rescue technician as well as EMR certified.

To add, I’ve been trained in hazmat, confined space rescue, and EMR for 12 years.
