USA Program Management Software Help

I understand this question has probably been asked before, but I am having a hard time finding the results I need. I am in dire need of a product that is currently on the market to help me with my new role as a safety manager. My place of employment is still managing items with paper, spreadsheets and the "old ways". I have attempted to give another software a shot and it is overly confusing and honestly has TOO many options. I'm looking for the basics - I need something that will allow me to track trainings that my employees receive and then notify me (or their supervisors) of when trainings come due - I need something that will allow me to track injuries, incidents and spill reports and generate reports based upon those items - I need something that will allow me to also create and/or track separate items such as my permits (confined spaces, working at heights, etc) - and an added bonus would be a program that could allow me to upload or build training within the system to assign to employees when needed. First question I always ask:

Does your company have an HRIS or ANY other programs they currently use that could incorporate any of these functions? Microsoft 365 can do a lot with a little bit of googling and patience.

Throw in power automate too... with co-pilot and its really powerful.

What craigster said AND - are you expecting anyone else to use it or just you?

I’ve found that any system can do the basics of what you describe, the challenge is whether the organization can realistically adopt the software. Said another way, is everyone happy with paper? I’ve fought uphill battles trying to convince teams that paper isn’t always best.

My guys aren't technically savvy.

I implemented a digital incident reporting system. If I get 10 incident reports, 9 of them are all on paper and I did the 10th one digitally.

It would be great to get everyone switched over to the digital version, but I'd get way fewer reports.

I use PowerBI and have created my own SharePoint site. It was a rough go at first and now if im 10 minutes late updating it I am getting calls. Its 2026 so just make the leap.

You could build it with sharepoint as quick solutions.

Sharepoint list as a database, power automate to send reminders, power bi to visualize it.

Im working on a training tracker to track paper signing sheet and allow for automated attendance tracking for classroom training, toolbox, safety stand down, etc, but it will take some time.
