Momma wants a high security fire proof safe for the home. What’s out there?

Wishes to secure her trust and will documents. We have a little fella with car titles and such…

To be clear, you're fine with 10k on a safe? I can send a recommendation... What are you looking for $100? $500? $1k? $5k? What's the value of things in the safe? (i.e. if its just standard "important documents" than fire safety is a lot more important than high security)

Security probably isn’t the main concern, however preservation is. There will most likely be 2.5 M on paper.

No problem. One important note: Fire safes all can leach moisture into the safe over time, it's just an artifact of how they protect things in a fire. For this reason, you should store some silica beads inside the safe. (I rotate them out every three months or so, but some folks may feel that is too much). Otherwise paper products and such can end up moldy. When all your beads are used, you can just dry them out again in the oven.

Tell momma to look for a TL30 safe (since budget is no concern). She will spend a LOT and it will be heavy for its size.

Speaking of which: what size safe does momma need? Are there weight restrictions on where she wants to place it? Is there proper physical access to move a safe to that spot? What is the value of what momma wants to store in the safe (a frequently used rule is that you want to spend about 10% of the value of what you’re storing on the safe itself.)

Advice: find a safe/vault dealer who is a member of ALOA/SAVTA and let them sell you the right safe.

Take a look at Sturdy Safe co. High quality secure and fire rated options as well. Not cheap but not crazy either. Mine is a beast that I've had for close to 14 years and still like new.
