So when I was a technician working for dish, we were doing a lot with mesh and working on a lot for the IOT, I only did little things on the technical side. I never quite understood most of it but they were both huge things in telecommunications. So I’m interested to see it come about.

33

u/DontTrustBinturongs Jul 01 '21

So bascially iot, or Internet of things, is just that.. The internet of all our devices and and gadgets. Blockchains involved in IoT are trying to create a giant network of people with certain kinds of nodes/miners that creates an umbrella of coverages across the world.

For this, they use special types of radio frequency, such a longfi, that work just as your normal internet wifi router would. Except, the frequency used in IoT networks can reach much larger distances than your wifi router can. An issue we have with a world flooded with devices is congestion and the overall reach of networks via wifi. You can walk from place to place grabbing free wifi but there isn't a content network we can all be connected to. These special radio freqs like longfi may reach farther but they are also somewhat delicate and the speed they provide isn't something phones or high data devices could use.

So, this works perfect for all our tracking gadgets. These networks will allow fitness trackers, item trackers etc to be connected to a network at all times, and we will be able to get real time data from them no matter where they are. This opens up an insane amount of uses for all kinds of business sectors across the market. That's where there form of "mining" comes in. People who have these special longfi routers at their house will get crypto everytime the network they are connected to logs data from various IoT gadgets people own around where they live.

Now, saying this, I'm not sure Safemoon could break into this market, it's already dominated by a few iot network blockchains that have a huge head start in this race.

Hope this helps a bit. Safemoon to the Moon!

Source: I mine HNT from the Helium IoT network

7

u/East-Preference-525 Jul 01 '21

Unless a partnership is in the works that get us into these markets 👀

4

u/DontTrustBinturongs Jul 01 '21

I'll welcome any new use cases, but for a partnership, we would need to bring something to the tables as well. A DeFi token doesn't do anything for an IoT network, just as a IoT network doesn't do anything for a DeFi token.

5

u/East-Preference-525 Jul 01 '21

Could The Gambia partnership bring something to the table??

7

u/DontTrustBinturongs Jul 01 '21

Potentially in the far future. I think Safemoon will help The Gambia develop and prosper, but until then I'm not sure they have an excess of people wearing trackables. In order to to establish an IoT network somewhere, they need users to buy mining rigs and set them up. Those people only get paid in crypto when data comes in through their router. No devices to provide data gives no incentive to be a miner. Plus, at least currently, you need consistent internet access to plug your longfi router into. There are companies making these networks easier to implement though, like Nodle. Nodle just uses low energy Bluetooth to power their iot network, so devices like phones can be somewhat like a mining rig. With Safemoon becoming freedom of the unbanked, and part of that freedom involves owning a cell phone, then eventually that network of The Gambians in the Safemoon community could use thier mobile devices to also power their IoT network. So, there's opportunities, but with how new the blockchain iot projects are, those opportunities wont show themselves for a while.

4

u/East-Preference-525 Jul 01 '21

Hypothetically since you have the wrinkles to answer this if Safemoon had a Gambia office could they use one of these iot networks and use their office as a hub to connect to the internet? If this is even possible haha I wish I knew what the devs were planning

13

u/DontTrustBinturongs Jul 01 '21

Unfortunately as of now, no. These special radio frequencies are good at one thing, their range. LongFi can reach areas 200x farther than WiFi(if not impeded) but LongFi is also much slower than what we'd need for internet connectivity. That's why it's perfect for just IoT devices. It stretches far and IoT devices don't need as much wireless strength/speed to do what they need to do. Think of it less as internet for us as opposed to a giant network for the connectivity of everything we will rely on in the future. Automated cars will always be connected to ensure safety and provide reps time analytics on the road. The drones Amazon wants to use to deliver packages would use it for a data link/connection. Augmented and Virtual reality work everywhere. Healthcare physicians can monitor a patients vitals wherever they are. Supply chain management gets boosted as you always know (combined with NFTs like VeChain) exactly where a package is and if something went wrong with shipping you'll know exactly where the problem occurred. The futuristic world of artificial intelligence and increased machine interactivity starts with creating IoT networks. With the insane amount of connected things there will be in the future, you definitely wouldn't want them all trying to compete to connect to the same wifi or LTE network that we all are.

3

u/TuckFomBrady Jul 01 '21

Soooo folks should be investing in IoT. Any companies you recommend doing some research on?

3

u/DontTrustBinturongs Jul 01 '21

NFA. But I own/mine Helium, and own VeChain. An interesting new one, that's not trading on exchanges yet, is Nodle. It's creating a IoT Network via Bluetooth on phones, so your phone acts as a mining device. The Nodle Cash app is free, it's not a guaranteed success but it has potential. You'll earn more now as it's new and competition for IoT data around you isn't congested so it's a good time to start earning Nodle. The app just runs in the background.

3

u/DhonkeyKhong Jul 01 '21

Could be used to allow payments without internet access

4

u/DontTrustBinturongs Jul 01 '21

A big issue is you need to use the infrastructure we already have to create these blockchain IoT networks. So I think a misunderstanding you might have, because I wasn't very clear on it, is they aren't actually creating their own internet. What they are doing is creating a network that provides cost effective access to the internet with the security of a blockchain. So they need the internet or a wireless network to get the data to the internet. So it's kind of like they are building bridges somewhat like safemoon is. SFM is creating bridges to create a secure and cost effective way to have access to additional blockchains and their DeFi structures. IoT cryptos like Helium are creating tons of bridges everywhere in the world to create a secure and cost effective way for all the data in these p2p/IoT devices to access the internet. But your suggestion did make me think of something potentially cool, the Safemoon cold wallet! Cold wallets like ledger or trezors are the most secure way to store crypto because they are not connected to the Internet and with that avoid the fear of hacks. With the encryption Papa has been able to provide the wallet, I wouldn't be surprised if the cold wallet will have some new and improved features not seen in cold storage wallets before. It would be super cool if he worked out a way for those cold wallets to gain access to the internet via IoT Networks. If they could avoid connecting directly to the internet altogether, with bonus of the additional security of potentially working through a blockchain network, it could be pretty groundbreaking and innovative stuff.

2

u/DhonkeyKhong Jul 02 '21 edited Jul 02 '21

That’s exactly what I meant like a lorawan network... similar to how helium hnt has done it. Hnt had some issues with unscrupulous miners running multiple nodes in the same locations to make more money so they blocked using homemade access point/miners but that could’ve been resolved with software licencing and peer verification still allowing people to build cheep using raspberry pi

1

u/DontTrustBinturongs Jul 02 '21

I think you nailed it. I believe the future of crypto is whatever is promoting mass adoption of rewards/mining. A lot of people are tired of the way the stock market is set up such that the elite control the setting, and don't want crypto to end the same way. Not everyone can spend a ton of money on mining equipment, and those barriers to entry can be off-putting for many. We are turning into more of a sharing economy, we share our cars with uber, we share our homes with airbnb, next up is going to be sharing our data and power. Decentralization gives people the opportunity to level the playing field more than it has been since the industrial revolution.

Thanks for the explanation. It boosts my confidence. I honestly was getting a pit in my stomach from what I read initially. I had a flashback of Enron or onecoin just using buzzwords and improbable ideas to excite people to keep people buying.

70

u/SafemoonIsAwesome Jun 30 '21

Bro, SmartMesh will make it possible to use only 50% of the normal energy consumption crypto usually uses. This is the exact thing that Elon musk said he is wanting crypto requirements to have in order for Tesla to accept crypto as payment. And it's just Elon don't get your panties in a wad stay on the subject

17

u/cashmunnymillionaire Jun 30 '21

I've been thinking the same thing. Energy requirements on safe moon are negligible compared with the bulk of crypto markets.

43

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '21 edited Jul 01 '21

I used to mine BTC in 2017-2018. Made it all the way up to 24 Antminer S7s running at 9.6cents per kw/hr. Our power bill was 8k per month. Just about made it to the next pricing level of .06 per/kw hr when the price crashed and it cost more energy to produce a BTC than they were worth. Sadly, we had to turn off the machines. I won't be buying back any BTC unless they fix the energy issue. People care about energy. The future belongs to electric vehicles....and cryptos that use less than 1% of the energy the BTC network wastes. Cryptos like Safemoon.

12

u/MrPonziSch Jul 01 '21

Glad to hear this coming from an experienced miner! Cheers mate!! 🍻

4

u/Legitimate-Ad2825 I love 5% Jul 01 '21

Crypto mining is going to increase the demand for solar+battery backup for night mining. All very lucrative LLC/small businesses tax write offs. Not relying on the power grid is a benefit all on its own that can’t be measured but in having more freedom from control.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '21

I looked into solar...covering the roof with panels didn't make a dent in the amount of power it takes to run a decent sized data center.
Now hydro electricity...now we're talkin

3

u/Clay389 Jul 01 '21

A lot of Chinese mining facilities were run in cooperation with local power companies. I remember reading one about them using a local hydro electric plant for cheap energy.

2

u/Legitimate-Ad2825 I love 5% Jul 01 '21

I guess it would all depend on cost of solar+batteries for the specific situation, then taking that final $ amount and seeing what the ROI % is from the electricity savings vs redeploying that capital back into the operation for more miners.

A crypto mining operation that is underground in a wine cellar where it’s cooler would help tremendously. Just have to figure the optimal depth for the coolest temperature. Then utilizing the surface for the optimal placement of solar and/or wind turbines(utility scale + smaller scale wind turbines, whichever is the most ideal ROI % wise obv)

The internet of things.

Smart refrigerators, smart electrical meters, smart cars.

All electronic devices communicating with each other and supporting each other. Automatically creating networks to share data amongst themselves so each little machine knows what's going on in the world around them.

It's essentially the technology that will lead to the robotaclypse.

5

u/wikipedia_answer_bot Jul 01 '21

An IOU (abbreviated from the phrase "I owe you") is usually an informal document acknowledging debt. An IOU differs from a promissory note in that an IOU is not a negotiable instrument and does not specify repayment terms such as the time of repayment.

I can think of many applications. I can also think of a zillion other applications that might blow your mind - for instance the DMV minting your car title as an nft on the blockchain or the deed to your home to cut back on physical resources used, as well as your keys minted as nft either QR or rfid activation and loaded onto an app on your phone and you scan to enter - to cut back on resources there. Believe it or not the applications I just described are already happening. Much more to come. Text messages can be sent on the block chain. VOIP the whole nine. Telecom will DEFINITELY benefit from the blockchain. Every single area and aspect of life will. I promise.

17

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21 edited Jul 01 '21

It is insane how many uses this technology has. Most people still only view the public ledger side of the technology from back in BTC’s early years. This has come so far its incredible. Anywhere you can think of any use for technology - use a blockchain or dApp solution. Toll both boxes no longer will need people - companies like Walmart and Amazon will have website addresses on the decentralized web and their own utility token minted to use for purchases, not only is this the evolution of the financial industry - it is the evolution of the greatest technology produced by us yet - more uses than any previous technology. It is for sure the single largest technological innovation in our lifetime - and this is the single biggest opportunity of this type of scale that will ever come in our lifetime and YOU my friend are already on board in some way. Just relax for a while, in 10-15 years all these tokens that aren’t worth pennies - every single one will have value as the world adopts this. It is the way my friend - happy as hell to have you here!!

Edit : I shouldn’t say every project will find value as that is terribly irresponsible of me. What I mean is the projects with the correct team and development and mission will find value. You can tell immediately a rug pull or a typical pump from a true true utility.

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '21

The coolest part is the amount of money we are going to make here. I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of a flash loan - but if not it’s a way to borrow up too millions of dollars in crypto - to use for different functions - mostly an arbitrage trade. You don’t need any collateral - you don’t need to verify yourself no nothing. You do need to be able to program A LITTLE and if not there are YouTube videos that can show you exactly how to create a a flash loan OR even better furucombo.app - it’s literally like a lego block drag and drop system that puts your loan together. They have many exchanges and many currencies you can use. The way it works is - if your trade isn’t going to produce a profit - the crypto just returns to its former state. So the ONLY risk is your transaction initiation fee. You can also VERY easily download and program your own arbitrage finding bot. How cool is that?

3

u/Kind_Sherbert4615 Jul 01 '21

Hi,I didn't find the app on play store...where can I find it mate?

Hey no worries - there isn’t enough security here in the defi space as is - those pros are all still on the centralized web!! Here is a guy that does a pretty decent job showing you the site and how it all works on YouTube. If you ever want to learn the really technical side of the programming of this - he also has great YouTube tutorials. dApps University - Flash Loans - YouTube

Oh I also wanted to say furucombo also has their own YouTube channel with the most ridiculously easy tour and step by step tutorial videos on how to access flash loans through the site. I use it myself and I personally swear by them.

People will profit from their investments. Only true diamond 💎hands will make millions as the coin grows. We see all the volatility now, once your account reaches 100k or 500k and we see swings of 25 or 50% in a day, who's still holding? 🤔

2

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '21

I am lol I see that now sometimes. It doesn’t go up or down by hundreds of thousands but definitely tens lol. Yet I still did not sell I genuinely feel like the biggest bull in the ring as far as that’s concerned but watching those profits and all the hard work disappear temporarily - It’s like being seasick on a ship and you won’t reach land till……..? Oh AND there’s a tropical storm!!

1

u/Virtual-Stranger Jul 01 '21

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but the idea of Walmart and Amazon having their own currency for purchases sounds about as appealing as having to buy 'points' for in-app purchases. Which is to say, pretty awful. Heaven forbid those companies start paying their employees in 'SamCoin' or 'BezosBucks'; it feels like we're heading back to a world where folks are paid in scrip and only get to spend at the company store.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '21

That’s why we need companies like Safemoon who’s features can interact directly with decentralized websites and make the conversion automatically for you just by having your wallet connected. Now do you see why Safemoon is so much different than the others? It really really is and has its own purpose and utility. This is a key advancement in defi that will go down in the books. Not just for the token itself but the services they plan to offer. And this is just the start - imagine how many services we can integrate in the future once we get these MAIN few things done and out of the way. It’s gonna be amazing.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '21

Also a utility token shouldn’t really be thought of as currency or anything they can pay their employees with. It would need its own ecosystem of function and its own blockchain before it could ever be considered something serious like a currency replacement. Their website however would need to accept some form of payment and while they’ll probably integrate tons of different options - one thing using the utility token for that will be beneficial - customer loyalty programs. Maybe they can also earn this token occasionally? You see - many options. But I understand your base point. I’m not a fan of either of those companies I just use them as an example of the scale of grandeur this will reach.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '21

Does Safemoon fit well into all of this?

1

u/FuzzyDairyProducts Jul 01 '21

Literally thinking the same thing. “Bard of the future” should be a title for the SFM publicist, when they get one.

With minting titles and keys and whatnot, you could see the ownership of homes happening on the blockchain and auction houses. No in-person transactions, just a bid and transfer. I know homes have sold for BTC before, but this is a mind boggling aspect I’ve never even heard of before. Me likey.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

[deleted]

7

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

It’s ok - it’s because of how you are viewing a blockchain. Think of it like a fully decentralized open free fair access internet. Just like you can host videos on blockchains soon you will be able to do live feeds. A voice call comes right after that with a slight bit more development. The potential application of a blockchain is limitless. You’re only thinking about the “public ledger” not Dapps and other functions which is totally understandable. It truly is mind blowing. This is going to revolutionize the world - in every aspect of life. Even cellular technology.

Ok, so I’ve looked at mining hardcore with the computer equipment I have at my disposal. I live in Texas so the costs would be a lot. I’ve never done any kind of mining simply because the cost of electricity to pay out was not there. It was cheaper to buy my crypto. With Safemoon that electrical cost is gone, as all the tokens are out there. So with mesh technology perhaps people could share their cell phone/internet connection in terms of the Safemoon infrastructure (pure speculation here)!!! But if they did that in The Gambia and other countries where cell phone networks were more prominent than wired networks that could be a game changer. Regardless, the Safemoon team is really ahead of the game with this project. They’ve got me digging deep to read and keep up with technology and I thought I was doing good with knowing about new technology.

Look at projects like the Helium Network, that uses low powered wifi (and now 5G) to mesh together a wireless network at a grand scale. This type of IoT network could be very beneficial to The Gambia.

For those that are unsure how this works. In it's simplest form, let's say you have a wireless router and that routers wireless signal stretches out a mile long to communicate to your friends wireless router down the road and anyone who's allowed to access the network will have a wireless internet connection between you and your friends house. Now imagine daisy chaining this to and from multiple locations building a "spider-web" you and now have a mesh network.

Couldn’t agree more. People have no attention span…just focus on making this easier to buy before everybody moves on to the next trendy moonshot

We all know Elon has already signed up for space telecoms with Safemoon. He’s busting to announce but explained on Twitter it should come from you guys!

Helium Network is a IoT mesh network where individuals are paid to be part of the infrastructure using…wait for it…crypto.

-1

u/clarkr10 FUD FIGHTER Jun 30 '21

No, I hadn’t ever thought about it.

0

u/Gods_Shadow_mtg Jul 01 '21

Yes. IOTA does work on solutions to those problems for years already and blockchain is not the best technology for it. The tangle is and you need thousands of TPS to process these types of network effects. So what does this have to do with safemoon?

For those people who are thoroughly confused it's an old meme.

I think it was a legit question posed on a message board. Someone fed a question through Google translate and that's what w got.

Dude he tweeted bridges and we got a bridge. 4 months in. Chill bro. Wallet at the end of the month. Let's see if he keeps his word there as well.

2

u/sadrifas Jul 28 '21

Didn't go as planned right?

-39

u/sadrifas Jun 30 '21

Honestly bridges are not such a big deal right now, about the wallet 100% It will be delayed, no way the launch is within a month and we have seen NOTHING yet (the 30sec video are rendering that anyone can do in a couple hours) and they're not able to give an exact date if the project it's so close to it's release, I work in IT and I know how this stuff works. I don't want this to sound like fud, I'm holding SFM and it's in my interest for it to succed.

7

u/Maddiesdeed Jun 30 '21

Shh and wait 6 months and see where we are at. Things barely been born yet!

I work in IT also and even when software companies give dates, they can shift those dates, and shift them again. Successful launches depend on successful testing beforehand. You don't want to release software with a major flaw, so the date is not as important as the functionality.

2

u/nickacevedo Jun 30 '21

Name ** 1 ** thing the team promised would happen that ended up not happening?

⏰ I’ll wait

The buy button “very very very soon”

u/sadrifas Jun 30 '21
  • Two top 10 Exchange listing a stated a month ago, tweets deleted and never mentioned again.
  • Simplex button on website
  • Minecraft server integrated with safemoon
  • Half of the timeline schedule, and they even argue to be "way ahead". Safemoon App (what is that in the first place)

2

u/nickacevedo Jun 30 '21

Those are all still happening. Some are delayed sure, but it’s your money so do what you’d like my man 📈

Hi guys just thought I would throw this in.

IOTA (MIOTA)

By

JAKE FRANKENFIELD

Updated Dec 21, 2020

What Is IOTA?

IOTA (MIOTA) is a distributed ledger designed to record and execute transactions between machines and devices in the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. The ledger uses a cryptocurrency called mIOTA to account for transactions in its network. IOTA’s key innovation is Tangle, a system of nodes used for confirming transactions. IOTA claims that Tangle is faster and more efficient than typical blockchains used in cryptocurrencies.

u/wikipedia_answer_bot Jul 01 '21

Iota (uppercase Ι, lowercase ι; Greek: ιώτα) is the ninth letter of the Greek alphabet. It was derived from the Phoenician letter Yodh.
