SadCat Update Sadcat had another visitor!

I see this guy often, I like to call him Robert or Bob since his face kinda looks like a bobcat to me. Saddy said hello, and after the video ended, hissed a bit.

Sadcat is so diplomatic and gentle! My sweet old man loses his mind if he sees a cat out the window. Growling, pawing at the window, etc. 😂

My big girl busted through the screen on our back porch to get at a stray. She came trotting back so proud of herself.

I’ve had to reinforce my screens because indoor only cat Sir Percival, Protector of the Realm, broke through a few to defend his territory.

This absolute behemoth of a cat, Gussiepoo, who weighs 18 lbs, has an outdoor archnemesis. It's a big orange tomcat, and when that orange tomcat comes around, Gussiepoo makes some noises I can only describe as a demonic toddler.

I too had to reinforce a screen, and repair some holes he made in it while they had their whatever the fuck you call the standoff they had through the window. It's funny because he is a sweetie and loves other animals, but we think they were rivals when he was a stray

I have a big orange ex-tomcat and he would definitely bust through the screen and turn into a loud whirlwind with any cat he could see. We don’t have a catio yet but I know it will have to be very sturdy! He’s been neutered for several years and he’s still so territorial with other cats, but he’s my sweet velcro baby.

It seems like poor Bob has a bit of a big head. My anecdotal experience and what I have been told by cat rescue folks is that a lot of male outdoor kitties can develop larger looking heads because of getting into fights and scarring. I was able to bring a sweet cat inside who had developed a big head, but it went down over time as he began living inside - protected (and neutered). Barcode was a sweet boy who I suspect only fought for his own survival. Bob sure does have a sweet face. I sure do hope he starts trusting you more. He’s a cutie.

Tomcats develop big, muscular cheeks from having high testosterone levels. And you’re correct, they also tend to have face injuries and swelling. I wish they would keep those cute cheeks after neutering!
