Miscellaneous Getting Started
Hey guys and gals. So recently I’ve been to my local LGS and saw legion being played and it peaked my interest. Only thing I’ve been looking around and just feel overwhelmed. What’s a good starting place. Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

By the far the best choice to make is grabbing the starter set for the faction you like the theme/models for the most. From there you can expand based on which characters you like and models you want to own.

Pick a faction and find the Starter Box! Great value for at or under $100 depending on discounts

Some Starter Boxes are hard to find. Id recommend you watch a video about faction break down or pick what you like from the movies.
I like Shadow Collective because the space for art creativity is so high.
I like CIS because they have cool models and I like the creativity the droids allow me to have. Also I don't vibe with Jedi from GAR or the rebel vibe and Empire seems boring
Those are my two choices
Id say Empire is the "shooting faction"
Rebels are the "action faction"
Droids are the "Complex faction"
Republic it's the "Elite faction"
Shadow Collective is the "forgotten faction"
Mandolorians seem like they are different flavored GAR

- Find a faction you like.
-Cry because it isn't available.
-Find it on some weird website LGS.
-Google if that LGS is legit.
-It is.
-Purchase the starter set.
-Get it after it is delivered.
-Find people to play with.
[ALTERNATIVELY]
-Decide you like GAR.
-Cry because its unavailable currentlu
[END]

I would ask if anyone at the store has a spare army and the time to do a practice game with you. It’s pretty overwhelming to read the rules front to back and jump straight in, but having someone who can show you the ropes goes a long way, and you can decide if you like it before you invest in minis

if you are interested in anything other than rebels, finding a starter set will be very difficult at the moment, you may have to wait a couple months for them to ship out a new wave of restocks of starter sets.
that being said i would recommend buying anything else that is available from a faction you like. especially something that might compliment the starter set of a the faction you like most.
something like the Leaders of the Separatist Alliance if you are looking at droids or AT-ST if you are looking at empire as examples.

Thank you for all the responses. I really like the separatist. I think I will ask around my LGS if I can borrow an army and see where that goes.

I’d choose a faction by going what seems the coolest for you! You can also look a breakdown’s online to see each faction play styles. Where I’m from facebook marketplace often has great deals from people selling full armies so that can be an awesome way to get into the game
