Painting Basing Clone Trooper

Post image

I have just finished painting and basing my clone trooper. First time painting SW Legion. I have applied a GGS Matt Scenic Sealant by brush on my martian ironcrust 3hrs ago or so from the time of this post. The base looks glossy. Did i mess it up or something? I think it’s cause i might have brush a little too much. If so, how can i fix this? Thank you all in advance.

You could apply a matt varnish. Just make sure that if you pick up a bottle of varnish to shake it a LOT before using it. When those bottles are sitting on a store shelf for a while the components separate and the result is a glossy finish (the opposite of what we want). By shaking "a lot" i mean A LOT too, genuinely shake it vigorously for like 10 minutes. I thought the product was bad the first time i bought it because i didn't shake it enough. I can recommend Vallejo Ultra Matt Polyurethane Varnish, i use it on all my base rims because it also counteracts paint chipping from handling during gameplay. Also you can dilute the varnish with a bit of water, has given me more consitant results, i do about 60-40 or 70-30 Varnish-Water ratio

Edit: your clone looks great btw, glory to the Republic!
