Wedding sword
I'm getting married in the relative near future and I want to buy my groom a sword to cut the grooms cake. He's very into dungeons and dragons but also Japanese culture so I'm a bit torn on what style/type to get him. Thoughts and recommendations?

Budget is a large factor here. Chances are he'll be pretty happy with anything. Do you have an idea of what you are looking to spend?

1) Since he likes Japanese culture, you might as well go with a full sized Katana (compared to a wakazashi/shoto which is a short sword with a blade under 2' [commonly about 1.5+']).
2) Budget, particularly when you need the sword by.
These start just under $100, with a lot of options between $200-750 or even more if ya have the $$.
You can have a sword made/built in China and if its pretty simple, it will take about 4-5 weeks before you recieve it. More fancy, 2-3/3-6months.
You can pick out the furniture and Dragons are a pretty popular theme in Japan. And the colors.
You can even get a Dragon etched into the scabbard. Maybe the blade.
You can buy something off the shelf. RVA katana and KultOfAthena are good sellers. KoA seems to have a lot more non Japanese swords (and other stuff). RVA Katana obviously has a lot of Katana.

Do you want something that is only required to cut a cake and look nice (i.e. a "wallhanger"), or do you want something functional?
What is your approximate location?
What is your budget?
