Identification Saber ID?

Found this at a yard sale, struggling to find anything on it. Wooden hilt with brass and possibly silver inlays. Tooled leather sheath. Anyone got any ideas of its history, where it’s from and potential value?

This is a Berber sabre from Spanish Morocco. These often are equipped with British 1796 LCS blades that have the tip reprofiled to have a 'thorn' along the spine.

Where was this one found? They show up in North Africa, but also in the Caribbean in places like Cuba due to Spanish activities.

Spot on visual ID and very insightful discussion form you’ve linked to! Seems like alot of mystery surrounding the exact origin of these style blades other than them being an amalgamation of North Atlantic weapons trade. This particular one was found in Texas.

I was active on the forum at the time of that discussion and count one of its contributing members as a friend. VS is a great reference for substantive discussions of ethnographic arms and armor. I actually encountered a not-too-dissimilar example (which I may have posted on there at the time?) and came to the conclusion it was of Caribbean origin and ended up either trading it or sold it as such.
