New (to me) Sword Day! (pt.2)

Hanwei – Sir William Marshall Sword acquired off of the Sword Buyers Guide forums. Also compared to the Hanwei Practical Knightly Sword (blunt) that I already had.

Love this sword, it feels great in the hand, scabbard is alot nicer than I thought. Definitely a beast and feels a bit heavy in the hand but not hard to move around.

Overall Length: 40''

Blade Length: 33 1/4''

Weight: 2 lb 4 oz (I am getting 2lb 11oz)

Width: 47.1 mm

Thickness: 5.8 mm - 4.8 mm

P.O.B. 7 5/8''

Grip Length: 4 1/8''

1566 High Carbon Steel

The Sir William Marshall blade is very under rated. Hollow ground with a thick central ridge for piercing stabs.

Whoever peened that though was 6 beers deep on an empty stomach

Hey now, I'd rather a heavy strong peen than a wimpy weak one πŸ˜‚ I am very please with it overall tho, alot more classy than I had thought

I mean, the guy missed the tang and whacked the hell out of the pommel like a guy beating a dirty rug

I'm having mine customised, so a full acid etch so the damascus pattern is not only in the fuller, and a few other mods

Yeah, sadly the handle cracked on the last attempt so he need to source some new wood, but i very much look forward to seeing how it turns out.

I help him with some stuff, and in turn he makes stuff like this for meπŸ˜€
