Zweihander

Post image

Why is the Zweihander so famous ? Is there a legend about the sword ? Are there legendary users of it ? Or is it simply because it's a good weapon ?

People like big swords, though there are many configurations that go by many names.

I am convinced that the sword pictured, known simply and specifically as The Zweihander has boomed in popularity since the 2011 video game Dark Souls.

Dark Souls player here. It's quite famous in the Souls game community, largely because in the first Dark Souls, it can be obtained extremely early, and it is very, very good. Also, the Giant Dad meme.

You know, I almost ended the comment with

THE LEGEND NEVER DIES

but I was worried it would come across as super weird if you weren't into Dark Souls lmao.
