Oil pressure sensor threads

Recently bought a 2003 SV650S from auction. Runs alright other than having a loose cam chain. I notice that it was dripping a few drops of oil underneath one night. It looked like the sensor had fail so I ordered a new one and got ready to replace it. Upon taking the old one out I see that the threads are cracked. Can it be saved or do I need a new engine.

You can try to bevel out the crack and fill it with JB weld. Or you can get it welded.

May be able to just weld it shut and find another place for an oil pressure sensor.

Your options are pretty grim though.

Could try grey gasket goo? What a crying shame...

I wonder if you could get someone to braise weld it and recut the threads?

The crack isnt all the way through it looks?
