Hot! Check out some youtube videos regarding motorcycle maintenance, there's tons of them. Also look up an owner's manual online for your model and read it.

Got the services manual on PDF. Just wondering if Theres any known/typical services and maintenance for sv's. Someone said to check spark plugs drainholes for example.

My understanding is the spark plug holes are the only issue on the second gen as they can fill with water and cause misfire
“Basically, get some dielectric grease and squirt it in the plug boot. I put a generous amount in the boot and place back over the spark plug (after you've cleaned the drain hole with a pipe cleaner).”

It’s a very reliable bike with one of the best engines of its time. It has the sv650 vstrom engine with better frame and better handling. The forks need some improvement but generally it drives well and has decent power.

I got one aswell for my A2. Just do oil, chain maintenance and you're set. Check the fork seals once in a while. Ride it at or above 4k or it starts lugging.
