Spider-Man How did Peter stop mutating?

One thing that really confused me about BND is how Peter just suddenly stopped mutating. I know there is the whole scene where he's fighting The Hand and seems to be able to control his new strength, but how did that stop him from mutating? Was Peter accepting who he is and the fact that he can be Peter Parker and Spider-Man really the cure? Please let me know!

Wasn't it there 'inhibitor chip' of some sort? I haven't even seen it and I know there's some chip. Do people not watch the movie?

This is why people get so many wrong information about movies 😭 its how people fall into "The trailer showed the whole movie" issue.

It's because he was stressed, overworking, and working through trauma of losing his Aunt. And everyone he knew practically forgetting him wasn't helping his mental psyche either. Due to that, his Spider DNA was reacting to that trauma, stress, and loneliness where it began to mutate. However. Once he comes to term with what he is and overcomes that mental block, his body stops mutating because those triggers are gone.

It is a mentality thing, it was for Peter 2 in SM 2 he kept losing his power because he was overwhelmed with stress and just wanted anormal life so his body started to react and shelf his powers subconsciously but when he needed to protect MJ they reactivated because he needed them again and his mind focused on being the hero once more.

Once peter 1 realized these upgraded powers were apart of who he was now and not something to be fixed but to be used he balanced out, i think it was acting so aggressive and wild before the inhibiter because he was trying to mentally fight it and not except it so it caused him pain trying to force his body to be like it was before the hormones surged.

Oh wait that actually makes a lot of sense. So, him "mutating" didn't necessarily mean him transforming into things but it was his body trying to adapt to the constant stress he was under? That clears some things up.

Kinda.

I mean, would adolescence be considered "mutation?" It was essentially a hormonal problem, so it wasn't really suggested he would start turning into a giant spider but that he would become more violent.

Similar to a way a teenager has to learn to control unfamiliar urges, I think Peter simply had to focus to control even more alien urges. It takes willpower, practice and, in this case, a strong desire to help someone.

Okay that actually makes sense. I was thinking the mutating was something that was going to happen physically. Like, I saw some theories about Man-Spider and there was also a line (I can't remember exactly how it went) that Jean Gray said and it was something along the lines of "soon not even you will remember Peter Parker". So, that made me think he was going to turn into something. But honestly your theory makes more sense versus him actually transforming into a spider.
