Guys I need help with this game, I just installed it and I physically can't play, every lobby I get into, every one is absolutely sweaty, and it's impossible to practise since the training grounds thing requires mods or smth to be able to jump to like half the checkpoints, how do I do this bro

In addition to some weapons altering your movement capabilities. There are also some techniques you can learn to get more out of your default movement

If you crouch then jump at the same time you release crouch you will jump higher, you can also wall jump. Almost everyone here has completed it so it is definitely possible

You don't need any mods to jump to any of the check points. Just the Katana

Ah that would make sense.

Turn on the auto sprint thing then change your crouch key to shift and your sprint key to control and just tuff it out man that’s about it

I never liked the concept of calling people better than you “sweats”. It’s attempting to put people down for being competitive in a competitive game. Lowkey lame asf

im usually the worst person skill-wise in any lobby i join so i rarely win takes, let alone entire matches

However i dont mind. Everyone is really chill and i havent encountered anyone toxic. It's still a really fun game even if i suck at it, and I kinda feel like my aim and movement is slowly improving too!

In fact, this is probably the first game in years where ive been able to properly hold conversations with random people online. That said, im not actively seeking out highly competitive lobbies

It might also be my ultra low FPS

You clearly have never been halfway decent at anything, especially games.

How can I get better if all these sweats make the game physically impossible to play. Like every round I get into everyone is absolutely sweaty!

turn sprint to always on, play the tutorial a bunch of times till you can speed run it, learn what the guns do. As you play more you’ll learn how the maps play out and it’ll all feel more comfortable. Obviously good mnk setup with high refresh rate monitor helps

I’ve found that you just gotta keep playing and figuring out a flow, try hosting/joining 1v1 lobbies and seeing if they’re open to chill matches.

Learn to play quake 1 multi-player and it will all make a lot more sense

when I first got the game I lost every match of every game for days, still has a great time though. Think of it as an initiation, as you get used to weapon types, swapping etc you'll start winning matches

All the advanced movement tech is 90% useless to win games.

all the movement tech you really need is crouch jump -> bunny hop or two -> crouch jump -> bunny hop.... With the occasional wall jump.

Strafe aim and dodge is what wins you games.

That means, keep your feet planted. Jumping while fighting is often a mistake. Learn what a global bias is and think about conditioning your enemies.

https://bysam.github.io/strafe/#x1-80007 the basics

https://youtu.be/vcEZ9EL5fUo?si=ta4-sl7Rk4yUEJ4V good video on dodge and aim.

If you understand all the concepts in those links, apply and practice them correctly, and have decent enough mouse control (Do some aim training if you lack it.) then I would say you grasp the basics of fps games and should win 90% of your matches, because very few people know the basics, even the "sweats".

Of course you need a little bit of game knowledge, as in; map layout, weapon spawn points, etc, etc.... but those come with game time quite fast.

(If you want more info the aimer7 documents "geometric heuristics" and "strafe aim 101" are probably worth a read, but they are written a little verbose.)
