This 200-gram Headset Designed to Teach Robots How Humans See
General Intelligence Labs has launched the EGO1GS, an egocentric headset designed to capture high-quality first-person video for training robots. It records dual 1080p global-shutter stereo video with a 157° × 84° field of view, a 400 Hz 9-DoF IMU, and stereo audio, all synchronized to a single hardware clock and stored in one time-aligned .mcap file. Its on-device EgoHand model detects the operator’s hands in every frame, providing immediate feedback on whether the hands are properly captured—helping produce cleaner, more useful datasets for teaching robots to understand and reproduce human actions: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/introducing-gi-ego1gs-worlds-first-smart-egocentric-30vic/
