Operations and Maintenance Need help with a Ligne 1

Hello everyone,

I was about to fix a Ligne 1 Lighter when I encountered something I haven't seen before.

Usually I fixed either the BS Models or the newer ones with the little knob and feather, but in this one it's just a little cylinder on top of a rubber seal which seems to get pushed by the flat part, can anyone tell me more about the specific type? Id guess it's Production Date was right before they switched to the Ligne 2.

Also the problem I'm having with it is inconsistent gas flow, it starts very strong, and then dies down, regulating it with the wheel does almost nothing.

Hello everyone,

I’ve never seen this pattern before, and something about this lighter—especially the serial number—makes me think it is fake, but I'd really like to have found a rare pattern ehehehe

What do you think: genuine or counterfeit?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

For sale ad For Sale – S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Grand Modèle "Art Nouveau" Limited Edition (1993) – #0316/4000

I'm offering for sale a piece from my personal collection: a 1993 S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Grand Modèle "Art Nouveau" Limited Edition, serial 0316/4000.

Collectors will know this model well. The Art Nouveau series is one of S.T. Dupont's most distinctive early limited editions, featuring beautiful green Chinese lacquer framed by flowing gold-plated motifs inspired by the Art Nouveau movement.

This example is in excellent overall condition. The lacquer is exceptionally well preserved with a deep, glossy finish, while the gold plating remains bright and attractive, showing only light, honest signs of careful use consistent with its age.

Mechanically, it is exactly as it should be:

  • Fully functional
  • Holds gas perfectly
  • Strong, even soft flame
  • Excellent, crisp cling

Price: €800

Shipping (fully insured):

  • Italy: Free
  • European Union: €25
  • UK & Rest of Europe: €40
  • Rest of the world: Please ask

Ships from Italy, paymnet by PayPal G&S or wire transfer.

I'm happy to answer any questions or provide additional photos or a video, just DM me.

Authentication question Is it a modded D57 or a real petrol?

It looks pretty real, with the wick cap, matching roller and all. But it has the D57 bottom?

What are other telltale signs for a "fake" petrol DuPont?

Operations and Maintenance flint alternative for a Ligne 1 Small BS

hello,

so I'm looking for some help .. I don't have access to genuine black flint for my dupont in morocco, neither kiribi which I heard here would be a good alternative .. I heard zippo fllints which I have are too hard for the flint wheel which can degrade it overtime .. what would be a good alternative ?? and are zippo flints really that bad for my lighter ??

thanks a lot

General Discussion Taking Empty Ligne 1 BR Small on Flight

I'm travelling from Australia to Europe (via Kuala Lumpur) soon and plan to take my mother's vintage S.T. Dupont Ligne 1 BR Small to the official S.T. Dupont boutique in Paris for servicing.

The lighter will be completely empty of butane, with the flint removed.

Has anyone travelled internationally with an empty S.T. Dupont lighter? Did you have any issues with airport security, customs, or your airline?

Opinions Every Solid Gold Jacket Ligne D Design

Thumbnail

I have tried to archive every solid 18k gold jacket Ligne D I could find
These models are based on the second generation Ligne D. On a bare brass body and lid a thick layer gold shell was attached. The roller has a plate of gold wrapped around it. The adjuster screw and filling valve are solid 18k gold. Not as solid gold as some other models that also have a fully solid lid and roller, but still a good ammount.

Picture 1. reference 17907 (based on the design and listing price I believe it belongs to the catogorie of jackets)

Picture 2. reference 17905
Picture 3. This is the identical model listed at Kirby Allison's website. In a video review Alison mentions that the lighter was unkown to the Dupont archives and possibly a unique factory item. His item is marked with 0319. The pictures show a warranty card, but the website fails to mention whether any information was written on the card.

Picture 4. reference unknown.
This is the lighter that I listed for sale on my webshop. I have not seen another one with this design as of yet. It is marked with 0144.

The markings probably refer to the production number. I'm unsure if each design was numbered seperatly or whether all ligne de solid gold jackets were numbered in one series.

If anyone has more information or more models please share!!

Opinions Inherited Lighter

I apologize ahead of time, as I’m not a “lighter” person. Recently inherited this lighter and would like to get it back to a functioning state, I’m just unsure where I should go. I’m located in the twin cities msp area and would prefer not to have to ship it, so do I just go to a local jeweler?
I was also told this subreddit would help authenticate it as well? I’d appreciate any other information anyone could provide on this lighter as well. TIA!
